Invitation to Fall gathering in SW New Hampshire!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Let's hope so, Marilyn! Right now you have to have lots of vision!!! LOL I think Hank has decided that he now has a brand new project that has become the priority over re-screening part of the front porch. It's going to take a lot of "follow-up work" on the front yard. The porch may just have to be next spring's project. LOL

Thomaston, CT

Yes, I know about deferring projects! I always make a list, but never get to everything---that's being retired--lol--I always say, "Maybe tomorrow!"

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Must be a Scarlet thing.....LOL. "I'll think about that tomorrow!"

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

"Frankly, Scarlet..."

"Please don't call me Frank!"

That's the way we talk at my house.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Carrie.

We're making progress on places for people to park here! If you can envision green grass where the straw is, it will be nice when the yard comes back!

We're only a bit over a month away, is anyone ready for me to fill in the pot luck food list or plant list for you???

I guess I'll make an orzo salad if that's OK. It will have tomatoes, kalamata olives, cukes & feta cheese in it-----

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I will make my pasta veggie salad as well.... it travels well

Thomaston, CT

Gee, Allison, we'll have dueling salads! Glad you're coming!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

LOL.. sorry I just know it's got to be something easy because it will be made after work on friday.. then the drive.. has to travel well

I am still trying to convince Michele... but she is still on the fence

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

OK, everyone....we're a month away and it's time to start listing the plants you want, so those who have them can start thinking about digging, and also listing the plants you are planning to bring, if you can bring any.

Also, does anyone want to do a raffle? If not, I'll remove that part of the listing.

Any new recruits??? I'll add your names, if so! It will be here before we know it now! We now have an almost-finished new driveway and parking pad, and it is also quite safe to just park on the road if you hug the grass on our side. Today we had a total of 4 cars go by, and 3 landed at our house!

Here's our new driveway that Hank will hopefully finish filling the blank areas around the edges tomorrow before the rain comes to pack it all down nicely.

doesn't sound like Michele is coming with me by the way... but she is still thinking about it... is my massive truck going to fit there I hope???

do you want to do a new thread for plants?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh yeah, Allison - you should see the Big Big trucks that we've had here! lol

I'll copy the food and plants together onto a new thread to keep it simple.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ok I have to still make a list of stuff... I have to check which poppies are still alive... and I know I have two tuberous begonia cuttings rooted....but I have shasta daisies out the whazoo that I can dig.. and of course coleus

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

I'm sure all of those can find excellent homes! And I won't mind if some get left behind! I started the new thread, but need to provide a link here......going there now!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Here is the link to the food/plant thread to add yours to the list: Remember, no chatting on this new thread, please: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1029282/

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Oh, and Allison....here's the new parking pad across the road....we'll have no problems with the street parking as well.

very nice!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

PLENTY of room for your truck!!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Looks nice, Louise! I wish I could see it in person. Alas, I have sad news. Because of very expensive work needing to be done on my car, my friend Karen, my Dad and I will not be able to attend. I have already spent over $500 on it, and I'm not even close to being done. Well, what can you do? All a part of life's ups and downs, I suppose. I won't be buying plants for awhile, either, or going out to eat. Hey, I do too much of that anyway. I need to start saving money and putting it aside for problems like this, so it won't hit me so hard in the future.

I hope everyone has fun, and post lots of pics for those who couldn't attend!

Karen

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Karen, I'm so sorry to hear this, but of course we all understand how life gets in the way sometimes! There will be other opportunities, don't you worry!

Take good care and I hope it somehow turns out better than you fear!

My best to your Dad and Karen as well.

Louise

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Louise!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

bummer Karen.... Louise you can add ornamental kale to my list... potted up the seedlings today.. not sure how they are going to grow.. my first time from seed.. but they look good so far

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Will do, Allison....when I get my real computer internet back. My Blackberry is better for lurking than writing! Those sound great!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I took a ton of cuttings today... hopefully they will root by then... but I took scented geranium, tri color geranium, pineapple sage both the dark green and a lighter chartreuse, and I have a tray and a 1/2 of coleus

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That sounds wonderful! No internet on my computer until September 3rd. Ugh! I'll have a lot of tyoing to do by then!!

Thomaston, CT

Oh, rats, Louise---how annoying!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

going to have to give the sage a few days to see if it perks up... not looking too happy today.. thought it was going to be an easy one... not so sure now... but I will keep you posted

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Does anyone know why I can't reply to d-mails from JoAnn? There is no "send" button or browse button following the "reply" space. I don't have that issue with other d-mails.

Thomaston, CT

I send her D-mails with no problems---my computer shows the "send" button---could it be your server, Louise?

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Hi Marilyn! I don't think so. I was able to reply to other d-mails just fine, but not to two of hers. I didn't find it out until I wrote a reply and then had no way to send my reply. Grrrr. I hate not having my computer. I'll try again.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

not sure why that is... sorry

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Ok, it's official... I am coming! it's my weekend off!!!! dying to see you guys!!!!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Yippee!!!!!!

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone too.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Oh man - I am really p****ed that I'm missing this. My wife has to work that weekend.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

:(

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

I might try and make it. If my car is working by that weekend I will come, but just make it a day trip. Hopefully my brother can work on it the weekend of the 12th. It's going to cost me $1,000. I have a cylinder that misfires, so it's working on about 3 and 1/3 cylinders right now. Can't drive it on the highway.

Karen

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)
