Invitation to Fall gathering in SW New Hampshire!
What fun it will be!!
You betcha!
I want to bump this thread back up so that anyone interested can find the info on our gathering. Come one, come all!
Louise
If I've missed adding anyone's name, please let me know!! And if any "possibles" become definites, please tell me that too!
Thanks!
Can't wait to see everyone, & hopefully exchange some goodies---let us know when you want food listings---I'm bringing something OTHER than deviled eggs! That's all I know at this point.
robin what is wrong with deviled eggs is the chemical ration they can cause a problem?
LOL, Bill---no, it's just that I brought them to the last 3 RUs.
LOL, Bill! Are you going to be able to come??
Marilyn - They were delicious - at least at the last 2 RUs!! LOL Feel free to bring them or anything else you want. I'll add a trade section and a food section to this thread soon.
Actually, it may be better to make new threads - one for food and one for plant trades - once people get their heads into it closer to the time.
How far are you from Boston, Louise, and how hilly is it? Trying to think...
Carrie - we're about 3 hours from Boston, and our yard is a gentle slope from one end to the other, as we are almost at the top of the hill.
Hmmm. I'm not sure that long of a trip would be feasible for me. If it takes you 3 hours, it will take me 4.5. Maybe i can get DH in on it, then it might be more feasible.
I understand, Carrie. I know you were concerned about our house (bathrooms) not being wheelchair accessible as well when we talked about it at Kathy's RU. I must admit, these old farmhouses are not easy for some with the steps and the remote nature in the woods.
I hope you never have cause to regret having that house, Louise! Love it and enjoy it!
Well since I can not go to any of these fun times, I do appreciate the pics, so make those cameras hum okay. click click click
Will do, Pat! But I sure do wish you could come!!
In an effort to simplify this thread - which will be self-contained as to a food list, plants to bring, etc. - I have deleted the names of those who are "possibles" for attending. As people indicate they can come, I will edit the thread to include them in each of the categories included. We have decided to keep this info on the NE Forum only.
Louise
Louise, while you're editing, you can delete all the previous This msg. was edited ... messages, if you like. It just makes your post shorter and easier to read, I think. It's up to you. I do have hardy hydrangeas I'm going to try to root, but I don't think I'll be able to come, family stuff. Maybe I can send you some.
I'm sure I've got shasta daisies to bring. I know that without even looking at the garden!
My Shastas have formed a huge clump, even after I gave half of them away last year, and a big chunk of them this year---they really spread---but they are so cheerful looking!
Carrie - thanks for that tip about editing. I didn't know that, and I will do that right away.
I'm sorry you can't come. If someone from your area comes, I'd love it if you could get some hardy hydrangeas to them!!! Thanks so much!
Louise
I'm finally back online after not being online for so, so long. I'm thrilled to say that as far as we know, we are still definites for the RU, Louise.
YAY Candyce!!! Welcome back! I was wondering where you went , thought I was going to have to call. ^_^
LOL!
I didn't go anywhere. Just off line for a while while I decided that going online with so many rain storms just wasn't worth it.
Thanks, it's nice to be missed - again.
That's great, Candyce! We've all missed you and will enjoy seeing you!! I'm glad you are back online. I've had tons of issues with getting the internet myself. It's so frustrating! I've gone days without it. When it rains, don't even look for me on DG! Ugh!
Glad you're back, Candyce!--The storms have been terrible!
I'm glad I'm back, too. It takes a while for that doggone satellite dish to dry our sometimes. Then I can get a little busy while waiting for it to dry ~ LOL! I'm like Louise .. if it's raining now, I don't even try!
Candyce - do you have Wild Blue or Hughesnet?
I have wildblue, Louise. How has it fared for you in this rain? It's been terrible for us ever since the rains began way back at the end of May. But, I can't complain (too much). It's way better than dial-up!
Terrible, Candyce. I have had it about 10% of the time I usually use it. Terrible! I hope we get phone line broadband soon. I'm wondering if anyone has Hughes.net and how it compares in terms of availability on rainy days. Since I do all of my banking and financial business online, this has been really bad.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Louise. I never had a problem, even on rainy days, up until the big ice storm. Now, all we need is a front to go through, and there goes the internet!
Welcome back Candyce! It's raining today. I guess you won't see this till later
LOL, Harper! It is now 7:45 p.m. and I am just now able to get the internet. Grrrrr. I hope when our gathering draws close that people don't send me vital messages at the last minute thinking I can open my DG messages or this thread!! LOL Hopefully, we'll have less rain this fall. Is Sam coming with you???
Yes, Sam's coming. Well, unless his dad has last minute plans for him.
Oh, don't I know what THAT'S like!
I hope he does come! I'm looking forward to seeing you both!
I can't wait to come up and see your place!
Great, Harper. "Seeing our place" is really quite funny today......we're having a half-circle driveway put in in our front yard, and it looks like a war zone out there right now. We will need to do some heavy grooming and grass seeding REAL soon!!! LOL Finally, there will be someplace for a few cars to park! Here's how it looked an hour ago.....
My gosh, you've been busy, Louise! That drive is going to look very nice.
