Amen to that!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Luckily, we had one nice day last week - Wednesday. It was the 4th grade moving up day and barbecue. The kids loved the water slide!

Welcome back, Victor! Glad to hear your party for your parents went well! We were all thinking about you!

Bill - glad the rain held off for your outdoor party as well. It looks like we all lucked out yesterday with all the outdoor events.

Happy Father's Day to all you great Dads on this forum!!!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thank you, Louise! Happy Fathers Day to Hank.

Here's the happy couple!

Lovely couple.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks - they are. Can you believe my dad is 81?!!

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Wow, Victor! What a good-looking youthful couple after 50 years!! They look very happy. I can see some resemblance to you in both of them. How lovely for you to see them so happy!

Hank said "Thanks!" Right now he's watching the US Open. I took him out for brunch and we went to Rhododendron State Park to see if the rhodies were in bloom, but the sign said "mid July", so we'll have to go back then. We are heading to an auction tonight....all things he wanted to do today. It was supposed to rain all day, according to the weather forecasts, but so far we've only had light rain and now it is quasi-sunny....at least trying to be sunny!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Louise.

This is a normally sun-drenched part of my driveway!

Oh my, Victor. Is that moss ... or mold?

Congrats to the happy couple. They look very much in love. What a wonderful testament to finding the right one!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Candyce. I'm assuming your question is about the driveway shot, not my parents. ^_^

Looks like moss to me.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

LOL, Victor!!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

We have sun. The horse show was great, now DH is off looking for things he needs. He was nice and took us to the show!

Edited to add: I do hope this heads east to the rest of you!

Yes, Victor. I as speaking of the driveway photo ... not your parents! Heavens!!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Victor, what a great photo of your Parents, just hope they are as healthy as they look.

Just pouring rain again, my brick patio has the same color as your drive in a few places

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Maria. Yes, they are healthy for the most part.

Shock - it's raining again.

Salem Cnty, NJ(Zone 7b)

The last half of the day was glorious!! In the 70's, very breezy and actually a BLUE sky and some sun. Woohoo!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Middle of the day here was nice, but raining again now.

So what else is new?

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

ended up being a real nice day for the BBQ..... dad had a great time... we had all these umbrellas set up just in case... but we were good to go!!... makes me so happy when it all works out

South Hamilton, MA

Storm swirling around to hit us again tomorrow & maybe Tues. Got some plants move/or discarded yesterday--expect others in cahoots with rain maker. Looks like a great party, Victor.

We are stuck in this weather rut till Tues or Wed. Argh

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Just awful here, rain, rain and more rain, on top of that some animal ate the flowers of my very tall Zinnias, grrrr

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Same here.. rain...ruining my later flowering peonies... looking forward to sun!!

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

peonies are flat on the ground

Falmouth, ME(Zone 5b)

Perhaps sun by Wednesday or Thursday I'm hearing.. Pleeeze!! lolol!!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Ok, I just heard the weather report on NPR for us for the next 3 days. I kid you not, she said

Quoting:
"Rain, More Rain and a Little more Rain.

It is blowing 40 with, guess, what? Rain. It is like a nor'easter. We took advantage of the coolish, but mostly dry weather yesterday and spent the day weed whacking the edges and the woods. . I got in a mess of poison ivy, but hopefully Victor's Tecnu has thwarted it.

Wonderful looking parents and with those genes, Victor will be posting until he is over a hundred.

The weather is so lousy that people are leaving Nantucket in hoards. Town was dead yesterday, which is unheard of on a cool day in the summer.

I will get to try to catch up on my journal and photo's today. My poor roses are going to be blown to bits. My poor house guests will be bored silly. I am going to suggest they do puzzles and make cookies. I would like to give them some house chores to do, but that wouldn't be nice. But this weather is making me not so nice. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks, Patti. Hope you survive the PI!

67 and overcast - as usual.

East Bridgewater, MA

It's Monday....................and wet..........again.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

overcast with rain on and off here - plan to do some trimming, transplanting and planting - pretty sure i won't shrink.

It does look like you have some good gene's there victor!

patti i second that good luck witth he PI - i don't usually get it bad only spots on fingers when i rip it out with bare hands from time to time - if it does bubble up i grab treezers, a needle, and some tissues and squeeze the juice out till dry or blood and then its gone - the benefit is you get the satisfaction of "scratching" the itch.

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

60 degrees - first day of summer?????
Am I missing something here?
Just enough non-rain breaks to get some things done.
My first (other then the Stellas) open yesterday, an un-named lily. Its a flower, who cares its name.
One great thing although, my hummingbirdless days appear to be over. We have 2 at the feeder. One male and one female.
One was hovering about a foot from my wifes ear. She thought it was a very large bee.
They don't seem to mind humans too much. I can still still about a foot away and they just zip all around.
The 3 year wait was well worth it.
Chuck

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

I still can't figure out the male female thing with the hummers

Mid-Cape, MA(Zone 7a)

60 degrees F here, Mid-Cape, and pouring outside--it sure looks like a Nor-easter to me on the weather-radar map! I can see the rain right over Nantucket!
First Day of Summer, indeed!! Hah!
You're right, Patti. No excuses for not catching up on my garden journal today.

Duxbury, MA(Zone 7a)

I had a hummingbird over the weekend, too, on my agapanthus which has sent up it's first bloom ever. I've been waiting 3 years or more for that to bloom. So I got a double bonus, the long awaited for bloom, and my first hummingbird of the season. Here's the agapanthus, didn't get the hummer.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Driving rain still. Branches down. Not a good day for anything except puzzles, reading and the computer. I have been doing all three. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

At the same time?

Breezy and mostly cloudy here. 73.

South Hamilton, MA

Why not multi-task. difficult, however as I have been trying to write & think at the same time. Tiring so I came here to relax.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

Driving rain here too, how depressing

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Sun actually came out today, just a little rain spit here and there.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)
