crissy i know i should have one but the task of going into the city is quite a chore for me lol with all those kooks and their crazy driving and im not afraid to salute them.

Hard to believe they are calling for rain today, gorgeous out there..stopped at Elmvale Lumber Yard - nope no picket fence...stopped at Springwater Nursery .. got there at 8am just as they were opening..asked about the Boomerang continuous lilac blooming tree, said they would have them in the spring..at the front of their yard was a beautiful shrub, looked like a gazillion pink/white flowers on it but no, just leaves that give that illusion so came out with one of those..grows about 5' high and 3' wide...so bought one of those, thinking I might pick up a second..will put them in front of lilac trees where the tree trunks are...

Then I went a block south of where I work and there is a lumber yard..they have them in stock $1.60 each, think I need 16 of them for the picket part of the project - potted bench so will go either at lunch or after work .. might even make a list for the rest of the project..drats..wish I'd have noticed no instructions just kits available..oh well I'm not a stupid person, will figure it out...

Then to my amazement, could kick myself...all those stepping stones I bought that look like brick design, wouldn't you know they have on sale 1/2 price - now $4.99 and they are 2" thick and heavy rubber with same design but hardly weigh a thing..I'd have bought them up in a sec...so now I'm trying to think how I could incorporate these into some type of project...

I'd better not leave 2 hrs earlier anymore, I can get into much trouble..

Liz, good luck with inventory..always nice to go to other stores and meet new co-workers..

LOL Liz the kooks are everywhere, but they drive different back here. In CA if you're in the fast lane you better be hauling or you'll get ran over or shot, or both, here they don't care, and when you merge right to go around them, they'll speed up so you can't pass them! Craziest thing I have ever seen!! If you're in the fast lane passing someone in the middle lane, they'll speed up and stay right in your blind spot, oh and they stop on the interstate to change lanes!

Anyway, enough of that rant, Linda I hope his knee is alright, that' really worries me.

It works fine as long as they're not running up here, "You need to restart." I can't get anything done (not that I get anything done anyway LOL.) If they do that today I'm going to use one of their computers. I can just see me using my boss's computer, like that would fly!

But I'm excited, did the figuring for materials, called my brother about how to do something on the project, told me how...5 minutes later, get a call saying 'why don't you stop in on your way home today and we'll make it' wow, now that's a plan..I'm office dressed, wish I had known, I could have brought some glad rags with me..oh well, maybe I'll watch..

Can hardly wait for Sunday to get started on the pond project....yes, I was left speechless! Picked up new graph paper today so I can start on plans for the new front bed.

Prayers going out to all who need them...they ARE being answered! I took Laura out to an appointment with an agency the power company recommended to her. After going over their finances and recent situation this agency is going to cover almost all of their outstanding electric bills!!! It is such a relief because that will put them in a situation were they will be able to get their bills paid. As she said, they won't have any excess, but at least all of the bills will get paid each month...and that is such a relief. Now if we can get her employed one way or another it would be just perfect!!

She is over staying with my MIL until Tuesday....Sage will be spending most of the time with me. Will have to see what trouble we can get into!

I arrived at my brothers at 3:45 and no sign of him ..waited awhile and thought perhaps something had come up so came home..did some digging, set the rhubbarb leaves in where I dug, that project done, planted a few shrubs, watered, washed down back deck..Cathy and her mom came over for about an hour and here it's now my bedtime...Cathy's mom brought more homemade soup so I'll have that, a bath and to bed I go...

Trying to stay up for about another hour as Ann/Mike usually get to the cottage about 9 or 9:30..need to know if Ann still wants to go to the city for plants...hope I stay awake, hate like heck to call her at 7am to find out...

Said rain tonight but looks mightly slim..who knows maybe their 80% rain all day tomorrow will fizzle to nothing..

While Cathy and her mom were visiting, we could hear bird screeching, went to look and didn't Missy have a bird in her mouth, poor thing was having a heck of a time, big robin, 3 or 4 other robins flying screeching..I brought Missy in and the poor dear hobbled to the garden, went under all the shrubs, bet the poor thing will have died of shock..not nice..know it's just nature doing it's course but I for one don't have to like it...

I don't like it either but the food chain has to be or all of us, animals and humans alike, would go extinct. I'm always having to remind myself that we are a part of that food chain.

Ok, Dave said he's working 4 hours Sat and 4 hours Sun, take next weekend off, and he's going to work graveyard the 4th of July week, so I have his schedule through the 4th!

Worst: Mom had a bad day with her nerve dr today in Minneapolis, now she has to drive 700 miles home still in pain.

sorry 'bout my absence yesterday. I logged on and read the thread, then when I went to go post....my internet went down. :o(

I was at doctor appts today, then logged on and couldnt figure out why this thread didnt come up in my thread watcher! well, forgot that you all had started a new thread, and since I didnt post on it last night...well it never made it to my thread watcher lol! I KNEW there were posts....as there are always posts on this thread everyday lol! Thought maybe I was loosing my mind lolol!

No painting for me today, and probably not next week either. My DSD has finally made up her mind and moving back home next weekend. This is actually a wonderful thing! She is the one with anorexia and was living with a ~jerk~ about 4 hours away. we are really really glad she is finally coming to her senses and getting away from him. But it means we have to play musical rooms with all the kids so she can have a room when she gets here lol! Also means that we get to drive up there and load up all her belongings and move her down here next weekend.

Dont worry, no way will DH let me lift a finger...so I just get to delegate and direct. but last time we did musical rooms it took a few weeks to get everything back in its place which means no place for me to paint :o( I may just go claim the shed as my place lolol!

Claim it! That's great about your DSD, maybe she'll get help for her anorexia too. Rotten men (if you want to call them that) can take a good woman all the way down without her even knowing it. Listen to your DH and don't do anything with that hand, you hear me young lady! :)

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her. 'Are you God's wife?'

The little boys parents were clients at our office. He is an AMAZING KID!

Morning...pouring rain here today so undecided at to what will fill my day...

That nursery about 80 miles from me seems to be calling my name...on the way back a Fabric Store and then perhaps stop at Bernie's to do my project...

Late last night he called to find out why I hadn't stopped in??? he has a small camp at the very ack of his property and was cutting grass..never thought to look there... so he said with them calling for rain all day, might be a good time to do the project...

We'll see..I change my 'like' to's about every 10 minutes for so...lol

Crissy sounds as though you'll have a lot of time on your hands the next few weeks...so glad you are bonding with the boss, makes for a better work relationship..is she on same page as the 'kook'?

My boss's are Bob and Jeff. Bob's the director and Jeff is the administrator for the IT Department. All the attorneys report to Bob, and the IT staff report to Jeff, who is who I report to. We have always been on the same page and we used to talk all the time but not so much anymore, busy with work and life I guess. In turn we all report to Bob eventually. LOL you mean Ms. Cheerful or the other?

Liz we stayed up until 1:30am talking and talking and talking, it was great. He wants to go back to graveyard permanently until he can get days cause he can see me 3 hours more a day. I told him it's not worth it, he's tired all the time, the 3 hours I get to see him he was usually asleep, so not only is he home and we don't see each other but it makes it hard on me because I have to be quiet, then he gets up all tired, rushes through the shower/shave routine and flies out the door. And when he wasn't asleep he would be so tired I couldn't have a conversation with him. I would rather deal with this, at least he's awake!

well, guess I wasnt quick enough about claiming the gym as my space :o( DS (13 yo) decided that is going to be his space...since he's losing his room! ugh! will make it quiter around here when he has all his friends over to play video games tho lol! as now all those boys will be hanging out in the new 'club house' in the back yard lolol!

Hello there, I feel for you guys wanting rain ..here I am torrential downpour since early morning..I'd gladly share...

I am actually frozen..yep...right to the bone...did 4 graveyards today in downpour...lordy, know someone has to look after the dead and somehow they've all elected ME! Guess because I take it so seriously..

Want to go through my day with me...those that don't had best skip the next 10 or so posts...lol..BORING!!!


Finished typing my post this morning and still wasn't sure what I was going to do .. went upstairs and called Cathy .. opps it was 7:30am don't think her sister was at all pleased of the early call..told her I was heading to the city, lots of little town stops and was wondering if Cathy might enjoy an outing..remember Cathy doesn't drive so rarely gets out..she simply said 'she's sleeping' oooookkkkk...fine by me..

Knew the girls were coming to take Mike out for Father's Day brunch today in Orillia so Ann couldn't come...

Guess I'm on my own.....

off I went, 84 miles to Canal Road, just outskirts of Toronto..rose distributors are located there and open quite early..so I dropped in and purchased 4 doz. roses and baby's breath...that was looked after...

Roses grown on site...about 2 blocks of buildings...most of these bushes had already been cut..7 girls working in the main room, cutting, taking off the thorns, pkg. etc.

Just as I was coming out of the hothouse, I asked if I could take a photo for AnnMarie...yep...

All these roses had to be graded, cut an pkgd for distribution

By now it's pouring even harder, do I continue the other 30 miles to the nursery that I had dropped into when I was in the city a week ago Thursday or just go home????

Nursery won out..after all what else can one do in the rain...

The opening of my frame in the back garden is about 3' wide by 5' long...big area for a planter...

I did find this one though..just has to come home with me...

While I was at it, I purchased 6 large plants (just incase I would build my corner unit and would need plants..plus a planter for Roger's grave...although everything at the nursery was far nicer than what I chose for Roger, she felt it was by far a better choice...she said this was the most heat resistent plant and if in a graveyard and rarely watered except for rain, she'd pick it..looks sad for $17.99..

By now my car was starting to get a bit full...was a few indoor fleamarkets I could have stopped at but why, couldn't purchase anything...the picket fence planks were still in the car as well as the rubber cement stepping stone.. so just waved as I passed by...

I had decided I would take the back roads, little longer but I remembered many little boutiques I could drop in and visit..still rain, nothing better to do right?

Just as I was nearing Cookstown, I saw the perfect little camping area..rent canoes, kayak and little cottages...took note of where it was because I'd love to book a weekend at the end of the summer for the boys and I...
