I did something last night that I've wanted to do for years--took the tour of Bobby Mackey's Music World, which is only ten minutes from where I live. If you haven't heard of it, it's a nationally renowned haunted country music bar. A friend and I went, and it was really fun and interesting. Didn't see any ghosts, but learned a lot about the history of the place. They did have unusual pictures that people have taken that sure looked spooky!
And then we stayed and danced for awhile, because the music was good. I also picked up some brochures of other haunted tours they have around our Greater Cincinnati area. Fun!

Oh that's so much fun doing that. They have haunted hotels in Eureka Springs I want to go to, but Dave's afraid of that stuff so I'll have to find a girlfriend to take, but I don't have any of those here so I guess I'm out of luck.

I have a ton of phone calls to make today :(

Hi guys, I haven't written in awhile but I have been looking in now and then trying to keep up with all the "happenings". It's been very quite for awhile but now I need some input on something going on - if ya don't mind.

I cleaned out a storage shed for this elderly lady about 4 months ago. She had "bought" this shed from the owner of the rental units because someone had skipped out on the payments for about 6 months. The place was A MESS...amazingly so...it was too much for her - so she asked me to do it. I agreed. She said I could have (to sell) everything if I would do it - the only thing worth anything was a washer and dryer and I knew someone who really needed that.

Anyway, my point...I have cleaned out 2 more sheds for her and when I clean out the sheds I bring some of the things into my house to clean or sort through and then get rid of - sell or give away. Every since I started doing this I have began to have wierd things happening in my house - only to me. Hubby doesn't experience anything. The main thing is that things disappear and then reappear. I know that is a common thing to have happen but this has gotten really serious and creepy. I have really started paying attention because it has gotten so obvious. It has gotten so bad that I can tell when it is going to happen and I even say..."when I turn back around the object WILL be there again". Sure enough it is. Yesterday I put a book by the microwave - I was gathering things to put into my car...things that needed to be "taken somewhere" - like the book to the library. A book for heaven's sake...that's no small object! I walked to the couch - 5 steps away - and came back...NO BOOK! I stopped and thought..."Instead of LOOKING for the book I will turn my back and put the thing on the table in the fridge and when I turn around again the book will be there again". Sure enough I put the things in the fridge - turned around and there was the book. Now at first I just thought this was the normal "forgetting where you put things" but now I KNOW something is goin on!

Question: This began slowly when I first started bring these things - from different sheds - into my house. Eventually I kept an old piece of furniture from one of the sheds. I've kept some odds and ends - like candles. Does anyone think that it is possible that something has attached itself to some of these objects...like the old piece of furniture? Maybe it belonged to someone's grandma that has passed long ago. Or someone who lost the shed from not paying for it died and that is why they hadn't paid for it in so long. I have tried to contact some of the people to have them pay exactly what I paid for the shed (much less than they owed) because I feel bad about them loosing all their things...but these people are impossible to find. Most paperwork I find is years old. I'm a little concerned but I don't get a bad feeling from it - just maybe that someone is trying to get my attention. I don't try to contact anyone when this happens because I don't want to open any "other" doors. No telling what else will start happening if I do. Has something like this happened to anyone else? Opinions please.

hi scarediecat, that is some interesting stuff! Too bad you cannot correlate a certain item with when these things started to happen. But I understand not wanting to open any other doors there. I've never really had anything like this happen but I have heard of it happening. I have a friend who loves "old stuff" and I remember her telling me about an old washbowl she brought home from somewhere and strange things started to happen. It was a bowl with a pitcher that they used to put in the bedroom to wash their face in the morning (before indoor plumbing).

Anyway, my friend started to have visions of the owner...but I don't remember the details. I think it was just vague stuff about a woman and how she lived, what the woman's house looked like and stuff like that.

That same friend now lives in a house that is over a hundred years old and has many stories of strange happenings. I know because I spent the night on the couch once! It felt like I was being watched all night, so in the morning I asked her about it... She knows that the owner was a sickly old man that died in one of the rooms. And like you said, commonly, things will disappear and reappear. She said her dh didn't believe her for the longest time but finally witnessed the kitchen door opening and shutting all by itself to let the dog in!

Anyway scarediecat, I recall you being quite intuitive (if you want to be) and you could probably get to the bottom of this if you want to! I recall you telling a story about a dream you had and you were dancing... I think your friend wanted to remind you to enjoy life! Just wanted to say that.

Just wanted to say that."...I am very bummed to day - have been lately - medical stuff, very over whelming, etc...I was thinking this morning that I need to turn the tv onto Joyce Myers. She always talks about enjoying life...being thankful. It's like you confirmed that by reminding me "to enjoy life".

As for the strange happenings...I don't know if I should be worried, ignore it or investigate it more. I do know it started happening with the first shed. I will have to look around and see what I can find - if anything from that first shed. But it did seem to "grow" as I added items from each shed. Could be a combination I guess. If things get ominous I'll get rid of the stuff.

Sounds like you brought someone home with you. If you were just having visions or thoughts/dreams of someone or a different time, we could say it was the energy attached to an object or objects. But things are actually moving or being hidden momentarily from you. That says entity. I wouldn't be frightened. They just saying "hello".

Nothing goes away forever, by your description. The item always comes back, so they aren't being malicious, just playful. Perhaps, a firm "no more" will end it or slow it down.

Anyone else with suggestions? I know a few of you have had similar experiences.

Freaky! Yep, it sure sounds like at least one of the items has someone attached to it. You could always call a ghost investigator.

If it were more agressive I would call in someone but I think I can ignore this as long as I know what's going on and I don't think I'm nutz! I have learned to pay more attention - which is a good thing all the way around. I also have gotten to the place that I don't get frustrated as much cause I expect things to be back to where they should be if I'll just walk away for a moment. Beats having to look for something KNOWING you had just laid it down...at least they are putting it back where it belongs. I still have the choice of getting rid of everything I brought home.

Let us know what you decide or if anything else happens.

There is a 'haunted' category! Just for fun, I like to browse that category sometimes. Sometimes there are some pretty antique pieces.

REALLY!!! hahahaha...I have to check out that catagory on Ebay...I could use some money right now. I have a rock that my husband and I found one day just walking through a creek that looks JUST like Mother Mary holding the baby Jesus. Maybe I should try selling that too?? Thanks, that was an interesting read...I can't emagine going around and buying things you knew were haunted. I seem to feel - if I had to guess - that it was the first shed I cleaned. That's when things first started. I found a lot of medicine that was years old, strong stuff, lots of it. I also found letters and doctors records - nothing indepth. It seemed she was not well and things were not getting better for her. She didn't look well in her photos and she had several other problems going on - personal. I still have several photo albums, records for her children, important papers that no one should have left in a storage shed. I tried to contact some of the people in the papers I found but numbers didn't match. The last dates were 2007. I don't know what to do with the photo albums. The article Kywoods told us about said not to burn things but I was wondering if I should put them in a lock box and bury them with a special prayer, etc. Again, at this point I'm not worried. I just don't know what to do with the photo albums, etc. I don't feel comfortable having such personal items that belong to someone else in my care. The storage shed guy said they wouldn't take them cause they had done all they could to contact her for months with no luck. The only thing that has me a little worried is that the items that seem to end up missing and then reappearing are getting a little larger that at first. But I still feel no "evil". If anything I feel sadness. But maybe that's coming from me cause I know things were not going well for her and I have her precious items and she doesn't. Again, I'll just give it time and see how things go. I'll let ya'll know if anything more odd happens. Thanks for all the info.

I don't blame you for not wanting to destroy them, esp. the photo albums. They could be treasures to any family you might find. Are there any names in the albums you could search? You could even ask for the help of the local tv stations in finding relatives that might want to take these things off your hands. Just a thought.

I've looked at the backs of the photos ...nothing...they are sooo old - like back in the 70s. I will pull the book out again and see if there is any place I could just mail the book that MIGHT reach her. Then at least it will be out of my hands and I can say I tried.

Funny story...I was cooking pork chops last night...couldn't find the bottle of cooking oil. Hubby was looking for it too. I said..."I just used it the other night"...he began looking real hard. Finally he said..."ok, let's go watch tv awhile and if we come back and the oil is here I WILL believe you". We did - no oil. Now I know hubby thinks I'm nutz...lol...maybe it is all in my head...better get my meds checked...lol

crissyr and jwanjin...I love your photos....that is too fun. Crissyr - it that is an animal it's almost crosseyed...lol...What a treat it is when we catch something scary on film. That's the best to me. I have several photos that have the "markings" of something going on but they are from a camera way back when you had to get them developed. I don't know how to get them put on cd or what ever. Maybe Wal-mart can do it for me - take the hard copy and copy it onto a cd? I'll give it a try when I find them and then post them. One set of photos was when I visited the house and land where my dad came from. We found the only surviving "relative" in that area and went to see him and talk with him about our family history. To make a long story short, the photos of the man - not at the beginning or the roll nor at the end of the roll - had a "haze" around him. Nothing else - just when ever we took photos of him. He was very old and had lived on that land forever. Anyone else have some cool photos?

Allwild...in your photo what song was your hubby playing? Have him play it again and then take the photo again. Music has a power of it's own....interesting. Funny how things like that happen when you least expect it...else we would have a great collection of photos AND knowledge:)

I don't have any other pictures like the ones posted. Maybe a couple with some "orbs" but nothing special.

It was the "Come and Go Blues" by Greg Almond of the Almond Brothers. Nice tune. That ought to age us correctly!! LOL I'll have to try taking another pic - he plays that tune often enough.

I have a pic that a previous boss took of me while we were having a "storage shed sale" (he was quite the pack rat) anyway, when the pics were developed it looked just like an angel was standing over me. Very strange... my boss put it in a frame that said "Touched by an Angel" and gave it to me as a birthday gift. I still have it; although he has since passed away. I remember when he gave it to me; just before handing the gift to me he asked me if I believed in angels. I sure do!

Here is my run in with a haunted doll:

There used to be a doll museum a few towns over from me. It was called, Yesteryears Doll Museum it was housed in The First Parish Meetinghouse, built in 1638. There were two floors. The top floor housed lead figurines, which were set up as battlefields, but the basement housed the old porcelain dolls. As I was walking down the steps, to the basement room, I started getting a creepy vibe. I really didn't want to go down there. There was only one doll case in the room, it was huge, made of glass and was u-shaped. You had to round a corner to see the dolls in the middle. As I rounded the corner of the case, I saw IT. This one doll. My eyes zeroed in on it immediately. It was what I was sensing, when I was coming down the steps. It was about 18-inches tall and dressed in white, baby bunting-type clothes. My mother, who was with me at the time, felt it also. As we quickly left the room, I kept my eye on it. The doll's head moved... I swear... and watched us leaving the room. Honestly, it really happened! It scared me half to death. I had never gone back, until this summer, but the doll museum had closed down and is now a private residence. None of the neighbors know what happened to the dolls. I pity the person who now owns it. Also, I had a Raggedy Andy doll. I hated that doll. I could not sleep if that doll was in my room. I do not know why, I just could not stand it. It was a brand new doll, not an antique. It's now down in my basement in an old trunk.

And right there is, what we believe is the spirit of the child.
So sad, very young, killed on the very road by a speeding car.
