Pepper, I'm happy and sad for you! LOL happy for the sun and not hotness and sad for having to water by hand. That sucks.

Sun stayed behind clouds mostly today and my boss finally brought me a new hose this afternoon. He was helping me compress the plants and made a comment on how dry they were. I told him they wouldn't be that dry if I had a hose!! LOL. If he hadn't brought me a hose today my customers would have been all over him. lol

Silly man...

Car show today! MY favorite car.

Love the color!!!!! Classic cars rock!!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Classic cars do rock and another thing is that those colors? Only on a classic car. On a new one they look stupid!

Pep, been allergic to dogs all my life, so I know all about the hypoallergenic breeds. I want another Cuddles though. Or Cricket. Cricket was our dog, we had her for 16 yrs. I thought I'd die when I had her put down in '99. Cuddles was the daughter of the dog we had when I was a kid. We got Toots, the mom, when I was about 10-11, I suppose. She was about 4 when a stray dog wondered into our yard...oooops! I don't remember that us kids knew Toots was going to have babies. One morning my mom woke us up yelling up the stairs...Daryl!! Kids!!! We got puppies!! 2 of the most different looking puppies a momma could have! 1 looked like a perfect white Chihuahua. We named him Whitey, course the people we gave him to named him something else. Then there was Cuddles. A furry tannish color bundle of love. She grew to be bigger than her momma! So anyway...lol.......my point was going to be that Cuddles was Chihuahua/Cockapoo. The dad looked liked a Cockapoo anyway. Cricket was a Maltese. I can't do the Cockapoo breed, they make me sneeze. So Cuddles must have had more Chihuahua in her. Have you heard the whole Holistic thing about Chihuahua's and allergies? I don't know, I only know they don't bother me. My grandpa bought my mom her first Chihuahua when I was about 1 and it's from there, when I was older of course, that I heard of the Holistic attribute to them.

Well, I really need to watch the weather and go to bed.

Yea they do! I grew up working on my dad's 1956 Chevy Utility Coupe. I'll attempt to find a pic tomorrow and scan it.

Terry Bichon Frisee dogs do not shed and they are hypo allergenic. My next door neighbor has one and she is the cutest, most well behaved little dog I have ever seen, and she does not bark! Here's a pic, her name is Sugars.

Crissy, who owns the pony behind the pup? LOL

Classic car colors are great. I love the orange ones, too, but, somehow, they don't look right, like you said, Terry. (That sentence has a lot of ,,,,) Sorry you have such bad allergies. I'm a cat peroson myself but I do like dogs. When they're quiet! LOL Seriously, I hope you can get one you can live with.

You have a Mustang, don't you, Terry?

That's Belle the Yellow Lab. They also have 2 Rottweilers, a cat, and fish.

(Zone 7a)

So...they have a "rotten" "cat"-"fish"!

Sorry...I had to! LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL!!!!

(Zone 7a)

I knew you wouldn't mind! LOL

I get to catch a ride with a brother to to go to Oregon! We're leaving next week on Tuesday and staying til the following Sun/Mon. I'm so excited!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Zone 7a)

Yes. Yea!!!

Darrell and family are putting their mom's house on the market. Wanna buy a fixer? It'll go cheap.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Dave's been working on the one here for 3 years now. I don't know if I told you, his uncle in Sunnyvale, CA bought this 1911, 3000 sq ft house in 2006 for $13,000. That thing has created far, far more heartache & financial distress than a mistress would have!

(Zone 7a)

You've made reference to it a few days ago. LOL Too funny about the headaches!

I thought so, I can't remember what I tell to who. LOL

The coolest thing happened last night (I know I kinda stood everyone up, sorry.) I thought I had moved and planted Wild Leek from the vacant lot next to mine:

They're actually Elephant Garlic!!!

Here's a better pic.

(Zone 7a)

And you're having babies!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yes! I read online last night that if you want to grow the garlic with those, you have to put them in the ground almost immediately after digging them up and they take 2 years to produce, whereas if you plant a clove you get a yearling garlic the following summer. These are yearlings. If you plant a whole bulb you'll get several small bulbs that multiply. You can plant the seeds too but it didn't elaborate on that. I'll plant a clove or two in the fall.

(Zone 7a)

Nice! I tried garlic over the winter but they all died.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I got a regular garlic at a RU a couple months ago and it died. I guess the elephant garlic grows wild in the South, I moved it from a vacant lot to my garden just for color, didn't think it was garlic as I don't really like leek, we love garlic!

(Zone 7a)

I love leeks. Anything garlicy or oniony. Mmmm...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Leeks are ok, just out of all the onions they're last on my list, but it's better than no onion at all.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I am soooo behind!!! LOL. Went and saw Josh Turner last night at a concert that benefits Cars4Heroes and veterans were reconized. I had a WW11 vet sitting one seat away from me and they mentioned his name and stuff he did in the war. It was really neat!! And Josh was tired from the CMA Music Festival in Nashiville so he only brought 3 band members and they just winged it all night. It ranks number two on my list of fav concerts. Ronnie Milsap is number one. Got home in time for a big storm to hit. Straight line winds up to around 70 mph around here and in another town up to 110 mph. Crazy weather!!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I had a whole post and it went blue and went away ;( I'll have to re-type tomorrow or another day.

(Zone 7a)

Sorry, Terry. But it is good to know you're still lurking.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

my first night on. My knuckles hurt really bad. I had to finally seek out the Chiropractor. I go again tomorrow. o.k. now I'm off to bed. I'm not sleeping very good. My knuckles keep me awake and wake me up through out the night.

(Zone 7a)

Ahhhh...sorry to hear that. Take care and much love and many hugs coming your way.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Terry hope you got some sleep. I'm sorry you're in so much pain still and praying they will be able to do something more.
My tendinitis has been hurting this week big time, it's in my right wrist/thumb, left wrist, left elbow, feels like my right shoulder now and the left side of my neck.

(Zone 7a)

That's still bothering you? It's been a few days. Sorry about that.

Amelia Island, FL(Zone 9a)

Terry - I hope you start feeling better and healing faster soon. My thoghts and prayers are with you. Hang in there :)

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yea it is, I don't know what I did or didn't do :p

My neck is from my wreck and it's remnants from whiplash but feels like tendinitis, I don't know what happened to my shoulder, I think I'm just weak!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

My neck hurts today too but from holding it up in really strong winds at work. lol.

Both of you get better soon!!

Here's Whisker's attacking one of my catmint plants the other day.

Thumbnail by pepper23
Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Cute!! Tiga doesn't respond one way or the other to catnip. It has to be moving or it doesn't exist. Now with her age sometimes that doesn't even get her attention.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

My cats will attack catnip for a little while but that's it. This was the first time I have really seen Whiskers attack my mint. lol. He kept attacking me every time I moved my hand near him. He was claiming it as his. lol

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Less than 2 months before that big last birthday I had and I seem to have fallen apart. Just call me Humpty from here on out I guess...lol

My hands hurt like crazy. My knuckles are so swollen I don't recognize them as my own. Same is now going for my ankles. I am no longer waking up crying in pain, I just wake up in pain. I gave in and went to the chiropractor, since she helped me before with my hands when I was working on this house. Both sides, mom, dad, have arthritis and calcium deposits on the knuckles. Lucky me. I seem to be the only child of those 2 affected. The chiropractor thinks carpel tunnel, but not carpel tunnel quite. Then I find out last night my dad had carpel tunnel. Do I have to acquire everything my dad had? Oh and the Neurologist, when he did that EGN on me, said I had carpel tunnel. I fought him on that. Not me I said. sigh So anyway....

I can't sleep. Me, who can sleep anytime, for looooong stretches of time, cannot sleep. I woke up about quarter to 4 needing ice and Advil Gel gaps and I couldn't fall back asleep for nothing. I'm sure my mom has been up all this time too. But she's sleeping in a chair or the couch by 7pm. I was in bed at quarter to 11. Tossed a little. I have to wear these wrist bands now, so it's hard to hold your (or maybe it's just me) hands right. Or in the right position, without bending and killing them.

We had quite the rain/thunder storm yesterday. The office is about a mile away. I was talking to my brother. I could hear his thunder before I could hear my own. And I know they were the same. Very weird.

Ah yes, Crissy, I know about those dogs. I just keep hearing over and over they don't like to be potty trained. My sister has one of Dorothy's dogs. I don't remember what they're called. Toto anyway. Over a year old and not potty trained. Of course being in a crate or in the kitchen with no access to the outside for 10 hours a day wouldn't help either, would it. Hmmmmm...wonder what ever could be the problem.....Sorry you're in pain too! Nursing home out there, just waiting for us!

It's family reunion week-end. Didn't used to be a week-end, but my dads brother changed it. Changed it to be in Springfield, IL too. He's the only one there. His wife and their daughter I suppose would qualify too. Everybody else is driving in from IA and up from a burb(s) of Chicago, or here. Since it is my maiden name reunion and it was always held in this town, why did he have to change it? Better yet, why did everybody let him? Get the idea I don't like him much? Never have, never will and it's not something I could ever talk about on here. My brother just told me the other day that when he was in the NICU down in Peoria, dads bro and wife drove up to see him. Wife stayed in car. Bob said he felt so special. I knew they did it to me, but they did it Bob too. And by that I mean that he or I would take/drive grandma down to their house to see them. When we were leaving, they never said it was nice to see you or anything like that? It was always, thanks for bringing your grandma down. Weird people.

The sun has decided to come in the front window and it's nearly blinding me!! It's so bright!!! OMG! Temp yesterday was 91º. Storm came thru and it was suddenly 70º!! Today is supposed to be another 90º day.

I can't think of what all I had said in that post. I still can't believe it went poof.

Ohohoh, I was about to send and I remembered something! My dad asked Krista to go to AR with him. Woo-hoo!! They leave this morning!!! I've been doing the happy dance for a couple days now☺Hopefully it lasts at least a week? More? 2 weeks? Stay through the 4th? Works for me!! LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Terry, no kidding on the nursing home, I'm old before I'm old! Her Bichon is potty trained, but her SIL has a male they had a hard time with, they were going to bread Sugars with him, but I guess the poor little boy didn't know what to do with himself at any point in time so they had to neuter him. Once they did that he quit going in the house. Diana said she's never had a problem with her girl.

My mom fell apart when she turned 40, she's still having major major problems.

Dave's family reunion is on the 4th of July in Mt. Ida, AR, Denby Point campground on Lake Ouachita, it's just a little more than an hour from here, the Todd side of the family, which should have been Dave's last name if grandpa would have been honest and told everyone he was a step-grandfather and not blood. Created mass confusion because everyone's blood line doesn't match their last name! LOL

I hate it when they poof. It's been 95 here for probably 2 weeks straight with no rain at all, which is almost good since it rained almost every day in the month of May, but yesterday it was 95 with a heat index bringing it up to a feel of 108! Yuk!

Terry it's great talking to you, I hope your hands get better. I had never heard that carpal tunnel is hereditary, pretty much either you get it or you don't. I wish I had it, surgery will fix that, nothing fixes tendinitis. Have a great day sweetie!!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Crissy I think everything is hereditary. My dad had neck problems, had the same surgery I did and my surgeon said it's hereditary. My brother had the bones spurs removed, which is probably hereditary too, since dad and I both had them. Dad had back surgery, my sister had back surgery. Heck, my dad breaks a tooth and, I don't know about hereditary☺ but definitely odd, I break a tooth, call my mom to complain and find out my dad broke his tooth. This carpel tunnel thing, I keep hearing it's when you over work your hands. If anyone knows me, I over work my hands, all the time. The chiropractor told me a few years ago when I first went to her, that I had the strongest back of any woman she had ever worked on. She couldn't believe it. When we lived in TN, we had all those boulders in the ground. I could never just dig a hole. Well, I needed a pick-ax anyway. I'd find some huge ones and I wasn't giving up. John was at work, I wanted that plant in the ground right now by golly!!! I herniated my disks (in my neck, same area as surgery), when I painted 3 rooms in a weeks time. First I sanded down that orange peely stuff you have in the south I can't remember the name of. Whoever our builder used, did a terrible job. I painted from the ceiling to the floor and the baseboards and doors were painted too. Did it all. I should say in 5 days, not really a week. I LOVE to paint, but after that? I can't paint for even a half hour and my neck is killing me. It's the arm movement over my head and painting the ceiling is looking up. Can't do that. It's not bothering me since the surgery, but I haven't painted or looked up for long. I'm not sure how long to look up or if I should paint.

Since John works nights, he wasn't seeing my ankles since it's a new development. You should have seen his face Fri. night. Look like elephant ankles and feet. My hands though, jeepers do they hurt. These braces help some typing, but my arms swell, I can't loosen because then it's not holding. Danged if I do and danged if I don't.

What about grandma? Why didn't she say grandpa was step? Are there some that go by Todd and others that don't? Like his moms (or dads) last name is whatever your last name is, but moms aunt is Todd? It is going to take me forever to explain that, I hope you understand the meaning. Like my grandmas maiden name is Swan. Her moms last name was Gutschlag. Obviously Mr. Gutschlag was her step-dad...although the only great grandfather I knew. My grandma got married in Dec and her mom was married in May the following year. Of course before my mom was born or before my time. I have an old picture of him, but it's in this frame that would be impossible to get out. I do have the 5 generation photo of great grandma, grandma, mom, me and great grandma is holding Krista. Which reminds me....the picture was in the paper, so John took it to his parents house to show them. His dad said it wasn't possible for the 5 generations to all be women. There had to be a man in there. No matter what I said, he couldn't understand the concept behind the 5 generations.

Oh and Crissy, I just talked to my dad, down there up in Northern AR. He said it's hotter than hot and I said that's why you go out on the boat. They said and I quote "it's too hot!!!". Make sense? LOL

Did I ever say that yes, I do have a Mustang. My baby is getting old at 11, but she's still awfully pretty. Her miles just turned over too, but I can't remember what it was. Have to look next time we're in the car.

(Zone 7a)

Several things, Terry.

Dang, girl!!! Everything seems to be going wrong at once!

Sometimes people forget about the "step" part.

I love 5 generation pics.

I thought you showed a pic of your Mustang once. It was very pretty.
