JIM
Awwww--she's beautiful Bonnie! Congrats! I love her name too. (The flowers are nice too-LOL)
Pretty plants and a pretty baby, Bonnie. Emma Rose sounds like a pretty name for a strep! We have a Hannah Rose, and an Amanda Rose in my family.
She's beautiful, enjoy her and may God bless her with a long, happy, healthy life!
Hi everyone! I have been trying to catch up on all your wonderful blooms! I still didn't get all the way through the first June thread yet ... will go back and view more later.
GL: That Strep 'Calico Print' is really pretty ... love the color and markings in that bloom!.
TurtleChi: Glad you got a name for that lovely Strep! " Summer Parfait" - good name for that one, it is really nice.
Phoebe: "Pipsqueak" is absolutely adorable! The leaves remind me a lot of Chirita tamiana! I tried growing a couple of mini violet's once but they didn't like me. ^_^ Well, I gotta be honest ... I didn't take good enough care of them!
Bonnie: Sinn. 'Heartland's Flashlight' is wonderful, love the color, but I also love the vivid red of "Red Lightning"! And, the MOST BEAUTIFUL of all is Emma Rose! She is precious, looks like a little angel! How wonderful it must be to have grandkids and great grands!
Well ... the only Gessie's I still have are the Chirita's, a couple of Chirita Tamiana's and a few Episcia's that the tags have long faded on so I have no idea what is what. I was walking around out on the deck looking for something in all the clutter, and found a gessie blooming! I couldn't believe it. I had no clue what Episcia it was since there was no label. Well, it had one new bloom opened and a faded/spent bloom which I pinched off. I knew it looked familiar but just couldn't put my finger on which one it was. Then, I remembered one of my first trades here on DG. Some of y'all may remember Starfly/Eunice? A very sweet lady, but I haven't seen her post in a long, long time. I know she used to love playing Bingo with us.
Anyway, this is a plant I got in a trade in early 2007 from DG'er Starfly. It is Episcia fimbriata Blue Heaven. Do you think maybe there's hope for me yet with Gesneriads? I tore down my stands with the lights over a year ago, and stuck everything out in the Florida room (porch) and on the deck. They were out there during the winter, and the porch is not heated. We had a few extremely cold nights, but I guess with so many plants crammed together the humidity kept the temperature raised somewhat. I am amazed they survived! I have a few Episcia's that are looking really good all of a sudden, so maybe I will have some more Gessie blooms to share before long! Keeping my fingers crossed!
That's a pretty little plant, PlantLady. I love blue flowers.
Bonnie your flowers are adorable, especially Emma Rose ^_^.
Lin,I bet you could grow anything if you set your mind to it!! You have so many lovely plants.
Lynn
Lynn, Thank You, but for plants to survive with me they have to love neglect. I am the world's worst when it comes to feeding regularly ... and I like plants that I can just put out on the deck and spray with the hose!
Mine survive a little neglect too LOL.
thanks everyone. Yes my little emma is a god send.she is just as pretty as her name.
No Bonnie,She is much prettier than ANY name.
Bonnie: I love the name Emma Rose, a beautiful name for a beautiful baby girl. My congratulations to you and your family for that little blessing from heaven!
aww what a beauiful little girl Emma Rose is.Congrats Bonnie!!!! Love the plants too ^_^
I have to add my congratulations for that absolutely precious Emma Rose. As sweet and dear as can be. I love her name. Oh, I like all your pretty plants too, mrsbonnie, but after Emma Rose...what can I say? Nothing more special than she is.
Lin...your episcia looks wonderful. You need to add more to your collection.
Pipsqueek is a doll, phoebeviolets.
Lynn - the Yan Minuet is so cute! As far as I can find, this could be a MAAVS registered plant. I am looking to see if I can find a MAAVS AV list (the DAVS one is about 72 pages!).
lynn its a streptocarpus
JIM
Lynn--I concur with Jim.... ;-)
Apache Bandana is so pretty, Sally. Love all those pink flowers with the pink leaf variegation,

Sally,
Apache Bandana is so pretty!! Don't you just love the foliage on the Apaches ^_^.
Nichole,
Thank you.I can go through the pages myself if you can tell me where to find them. I don't belong to any societies anymore.I have found reference to Yan violets and also to an Ian Minuet, but I can't find a picture or description. Thanks for your help.
LOLOL,thanks a lot Jim and Jan!! You too experts have helped me find out I have a pink Strep.I thought it was a giant Primrose that somehow got into my house ^_^. I WILL try to get a better picture in daylight. The color isn't quite pink. It's a little more dusky color.
Lynn
Lynn - I looked for a good bit this afternoon, but I don't see that there is a list of registered varieties for the MAAVS . . . maybe someone who is a member of that group may be able to help?
Jim - why don't you get Lynn to send you the plant in question, so that you can make an in-depth inspection?
Nichole
^_^
