Comments regarding Brushwood Nursery

I'm new to clematis and love the selection from Brushwood.
The three I purchase arrived today in perfect condition.

I received 12 plants on April 21st. They were all healthy, beautiful plants. This was my first experience ordering from Brushwood, but not my last. I was impressed with their selection, quality, and customer service.

I received my plants on April1. I ordered 3 different plants and all 3 arrived in excellent condition. I was amazed at the size of the plants! This was my first order with Brushwood Nursery and I look forward to ordering from them again soon. I would highly recommend giving them a try.

A few weeks ago I ordered four clematis from Dan at Brushwood Nursery and they arrived yesterday as per my wishes. I could not be more thrilled! One is at least a foot tall and very bushy and the others are also very large, about 10". Dan was excellent with communication since I had added a note that we'd be on vacation for a week so he scheduled the delivery at a time that was good for me.

I am thoroughly delighted with this company!

I received my first order from Brushwood a few weeks ago. I picked the option of Brushwood determining the mailing date. I received the plants within a week. The plants were packed nicely and arrived very healthy. I appreciate the detailed information on their website which helped me pick out the best plants for my garden and provided planting instructions.

I received my first order for clematis from Brushwood. They were very well packed, some with buds, and shipping was very fair for my order of 5 clematis. That said, I did receive much smaller clematis than I have gotten from SSV but her shipping is more. So I guess we will see how well these plants do and I will have more of a comparison - I also hope their warmer climate in GA won't impact how they act for me in VA.

I ordered three own root roses from this company. I was very unhappy with the delivery company a huge problem getting the roses to my house.....
The roses however were large well rooted plants would definitely recommend this company to anyone. I buy a lot of own root roses from a number of suppliers. most Brushwood has some of the larger plants I have received for the money, and even with the trauma they went through late delivery and rough treatment they were in good shape. I am pleased with them. Order with confidence. Great Plants.

Ordered from Brushwood this year for the first time as they were the only nursery that had Omoshiro. My order came today, as scheduled and I was notified of shipping. The plants are big and they were packed exquisitely. I will definitely order from Brushwood again.

First time order and I received beautiful plants that were very well packaged (and no styrofoam peanuts!).

Nicely packed, very healthy plants with good roots, not clipped to fit the box, but boxed to fit the plants.
Will be back for more!

I came to Dave's Garden to search for a vendor that sold Zephirine Drouhin Climbing Rose. As a result I came upon this vendor. Much to my delight I found that he also sold Passion Flower vines. Both plants I wanted were out of stock so I put my name on the "notify when ready list." First sign of good customer service...within a few days my plants were back in stock...I bought two Zephirine and one Passiflora Blue Bouquet. All three plants arrived within one week and were perfect...the packing was done with such detail that the plants came out of their boxes in excellent shape. I planted both at the end of May...a little late for the rose, but I was far more optimistic about the Passiflora. Results? Blue Bouquet is stunning...it is close to 20 feet tall and is FILLED with beautiful flowers. I'm in Zone 7 and will try to overwinter the plant outside...I've done this before and have had some luck (the plant is right next to my chimney and gets wonderful sun...I may try a cutting as well. For those of you on the East coast, you know that this has been the hottest summer in years...it has been brutal. Both of my roses are planted between two established buddleia plants...that is probably why they have surived this heat. They did receive early morning sun and then partial secondary to the shade of their "nurse" plants. No flowers (I didn't expect any this year) however each plant has grown to well over 6 feet tall. I fully expect to have my first roses next year. Each rose bush is putting out new runners and the plants look very healthy. I would wholeheartedly recommend this vendor - the customer service was top notch and the plants were superb.

Ordered two vines (clerodendum thomsoniae & actinidia pilosula) during their end of season sale. Have ordered tiny clematis vines from competitors during similar sales in the past (mainly because of the price). Never received better sized (qt. pots), healthier or more vigorous vines for the price from any m.o. company ever. Can't wait until shipping resumes to see if their clematis are just as good.

I have been wanting the double form of Carolina Jessamine called 'Pride of Augusta' for a couple of years. Last Fall, I utilized Brushwood's option to be e-mailed when the item came back in stock. The day I received the e-mail, I purchased this and Clematis Perle d'Azur. Both plants arrived today in excellent condition! Strong roots, abundant growth, and no damage to any of the foliage. Plants came very well packaged via UPS. I will definitely use this nursery again!

I received two climbing roses and two different clematis yesterday. They were well-packed in recyclable packaging and look excellent and healthy. I will plant them today and keep you posted on how they do.

Ordered 6 rose climbers from Brushwood some on sale and some on regular price. Placed my order on a Saturday and received it on a Wednesday. The roses were vigorous and healthy. Buds and blooms on some. The long canes were carefully bent and secured to avoid breakage. Packaging was excellent with the use of biodegradable materials.
Flat rate shipping of $10, plus I got a discount of $10 for buying 6 plants. You get a discount of $5 for every 3 plants you purchase regardless if it's on sale or not. So it's just like I did not pay for shipping at all. Will order from this nursery again.

This was my first order from Brushwood and I am very happy with my purchases..The plants were vigorous, healthy and well packed.

I ordered 3 clematis. They did not arrive. I emailed Dan and he was the best. He checked into the problem right away and found they had not been sent. He offered a free plant and sent my order right away. They were packed very well and in excellent condition. I would order from them again.

I ordered two roses from Brushwood, Morning Magic and Westerland climbing rose. Both arrived in perfect conditon loaded with healthy green foliage and several buds, carefully packaged and watered. The plants are now thriving in their new home and one rose is already in bloom. Their communication was outstanding and service excellent. I would highly recommend this company to others as I am very pleased with my roses and their service.

I just received my first order from Brushwood and I am astounded and very pleased by the size and health of the plants. The packing was excellent as well.
I would not hesitate to order from them and will recommend them to others.

Yes, there return policy is stated on the page. But, the plants are very WEAK. I ordered 4 rosebushes ( not all the same type) last year. One came damaged, I called they said it would be ok, it was just a small limb that was broken. I TOOK THEIR WORD FOR IT.
Not, only did that one die they all DIED. different locations, and gardens. When I contacted them again, I was told the neighbor or my husband may have done it. I HAVE NO NEIGHBORS, AND MY HUSBAND STAYS AWAY FROM ALL OF MY FLOWERS. NO ON ALSO DID NOT GO TO THE OTHER GARDENS AND KILL THOSE. There is other providers with much stronger plants that last, and if they don't they stand behind them.

Wonderful! Great communication and very nice to do business with. It was the first time ordering clematis and I changed my mind about what to order and it was no problem at all. I have ordered several clematis from this company, and will continue to do so. I have never met a clematis in the local nursery, box store, or other online company, that was as vigorous and ready to grow as the ones I received from Brushwood. Well packed with excellent root growth and top growth, I can't wait for the flowers this year!

I sent several emails to this company because I had questions about different plants. They emailed me back every time and were very helpful. I found the plants that they suggested for my Zone (9) and they sent them super fast. I couldn't believe how healthy the plants were when I got them. One had blooms all over it. They are all doing well. I will be ordering from this company again. The whole experience was great! Not to many companies like this out there any more.

I am very pleased with the Duchess of Albany clematis I ordered. Our dear U.S. Post Office lost the package, therefore, it was late in being delivered. I expressed by concern to Dan who said it should survive a week in the packaging, if not to contact him. It not only survived the eight days in transit but arrived very healthy without even any wilting or bruising. I planted it immediately, mulched it, and it is already growing rapidly. It's a winner! I'll buy from Brushwood again!

This was my first order from Brushwood Nursery. I couldn't believe how big the plants were when they arrived. They were carefully packaged and very healthy.

I ordered a clematis and 3 weeks later added a climbing rose to my order - everything went smoothly - the second was added to my first order and I was not charged shipping twice! This is the first time I ordered online and boy am I thrilled. The plants were in great condition and about 12 to 15 inches tall! I was not expecting that! Great people to work with - I will definitely order from them again!

I ordered 6 clematis and all were received in wonderful condition. I've gifted some and planted some. These plants were top notch with excellent packing. I expect them to bloom and thrive! Brushwood was a tiny bit more expensive BUT the plants I received were at least twice as large (the root systems were amazing). I wish Brushwood would offer some more exotic vines (ie. gotta replace every year in zones 8 to 1) but I'll take what they offer. Communication was excellent.

Even though my clematis arrived early I am thrilled with the size and condition of the plants.
Packing was superior.
Plants were damp and one has a bud.
We are still quite cold here and had night temps in the teens so the order will live in the house with me until I can acclimate it to the garden.

I was a bit hesitant to order in January because Brushwood (aka gardenvines.com) didn't ship until March, but I'm glad I waited. In addition to the routine updates and shipping confirmation I received, the shipping was right on time and the plant arrived healthy and well rooted. I would recommend ordering more than one plant to take advantage of the flat $10 shipping. I'll be a repeat customer and their reputation is right on point.

This is the first time I ordered from this company. I only ordered one Clematis Belle of Woking because I did not want to be disappointed as I have been in the past from other companies. The clematis I received arrived quickly, well packaged, and in excellent condition. I only have it a few days and the darn thing is growing like a weed! It also has many buds. I will definitely order from Brushwood Nursery again.

The clematis ordered from Brushwood are among the healthiest, most vigorous plants that I've ever ordered on line. The plants are well packaged and arrive at the proper planting time. I have order from them over two seasons and will definitely order from them again.
