Received yesterday. All 3 plants travelled well due to excellent packaging. Very full and tall. Would not hesitate to recommend your nursery and look forward to future purchases.

I ordered a Niobe clematis and a Gelsemium 'Margarita' from Brushwood in early May. I received them exactly when I was expecting them, and they were beautifully packed - better than practically any other plant I've ordered. The gelsemium is going nuts already, and the clematis is fine as well. I will be back to order more next year, after I find some other places to let vines grow in our yard.

I bought 3 passion flowers from this company a few months ago.
They all arrived well packaged and labeled. They are all vining like crazy, one has produced a flower and is the correct flower for the plant I ordered. A second plant has a couple of blooms and will be opening in the next day or two and the third is close to budding. I feel confident enough that the last two plants will flower with the flowers I ordered. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for passion flowers.

This is the best quality and condition of any clematis I've ever received and the only ones already growing out of over 30 I've accumulated not counting the ones that haven't made it through the first winter.

Beautiful specimens. Large, healthy plants. Arrived on schedule via DHL and it is very hard to believe these were shipped rather than purchased locally. I ordered two clematis and a wisteria vine. All are planted and doing well.
The clematis were a little more expensive than other sources but you get what you pay for and these were especially fine plants. I just wish Brushwood was open for walk-in business --- I don't live far from them. But with this degree of quality it's really not an issue. I will order from them again and again. I highly recommend this company.

I received several plants from Brushwood on Thursday. I am very impressed with the size of the plants that I received as well as the quality of the plants...very healthy plants. Got my clematis order yesterday and wow! I'm impressed. Nothing like the scrawny little clematis I've recieved from other vendors. Multiple woody stems and firm, hardened off new growth. Good email communcation and free shipping. I'll happily order again. Thanks Dan, for great plants and service!

Although I was a bit skeptical about what size plant I would receive,I ordered a campsis "morning calm" vine. I received the vine in 2 days(free shipping on everything)packaged well and in great condition. I must say I was impressed with the size, as compared with the one I received from Lazy S'S Farm and that one cost more. I have also e-mailed the company with questions and they have always been quick to respond.

Last autumn I'we ordered 10 different vines from them.All of them are alive in spite of a very, very wet summer we had ,my clematis were flowering and a special note for clematis montana grandiflora wich is bushy 8 ' on top of my garage.
Clematis tangustica has a good run too was covered in yellow flovers all fall.
Very happy and if I need more vines they will be my choice.
Same if they ever decide to expand and sell other types of plants .

I purchased 2 clematis and a passion vine from Brushwood a month or so ago, for delivery in the fall. The plants came early the week they were supposed to arrive. Very impressed by the packaging, plants were in great shape! Would definitely purchase from them again.

I bought a couple of passionflowers (grandiflora and incense)from Brushwood in April. The plants arrived very well-packed; the plants were small and I was rather skeptical. I planted both in large containers and waited for them to grow; for the first two months they barely grew and sort of stood dormant. However, when summer came along and the weather heated up, they started growing way past the trellis that I had put up. I had to string plastic coated wires above the trellis towards the house to help them grow, and still they grew and grew. The incense is putting out so many blossoms and buds it is quite amazing to watch. The flowers are also beautiful and fragrant. I wish I had planted them where they could continue climbing unencumbered. I definitely recommend Brushwood Nursery for the quality of their plants and the wonderful customer service. I definitely recommend the incense passionflower for its large dark green leaves and free-flowering nature.

Excellent service! Excellent commnication! Ordered a Clematis alpina Helsingborg which arrived when promised in very good condition. Prior to arrival received email communication discribing proper care; and, precise instructions about planting technique arrived with the clematis. Would most certainly do business with the company again.

Ordered 3 plants for a total of $45.00. Paid via paypal. Had second thoughts about the high cost, and emailed to cancel. They refunded paypal promptly. Trustworthy company...

I stumbled across this nursery last fall doing a search online for a climbing rose I couldn't find elsewhere. I ordered the rose and also purchased a sweet autumn clematis at the same time. I was very happy with the healthy well rooted plants I received and sent an email asking if they had plans to offer more rose varieties in the future. I received a prompt reply thanking me for my business and informing me that they would be offering more own-root roses for Spring 2004. Indeed, their website has been upgraded, there are many more rose varieties (unfortunately, not the two varieties I was looking for, but a great selection nonetheless)and some rare passionflower varieties I hadn't noticed from my previous visit, or possibly added for this spring. Very reasonable prices for such healthy plants and shipping is free! I will definitely buy from Brushwood again and recommend them to anyone looking for choice vines or climbing roses.

I have ordered twice from this company. Once last year, and once this year. Both times my plants arrived very healthy looking and I have now reccommended this company to two of my gardening buddies. Keep up the good work!!

Here comes the fly in the ointment.

1) my order was not shipped when it was supposed to be (2 weeks ago);

2) the website's contact page will not accept e-mails (it says each of my e-mail addresses is invalid);

3) there is no phone or address to contact them.

I could forgive #1 if I was able to contact them, but I have to give them a thumbs down.

Fantastic selection, great prices. Good sized clematis are healthy and packed well. Rootballs are very large and plants perk right up after a good soak.

Excellent customer service as well. There was a slight problem with my order (just a mix up) and Dan was right on it and fixed it for me. I will definitely order from them again.

wonderful company!!!! i ordered three clematis and all three of them were huge compaired to what i have gotten from other online orders.. i planted them and not one has a dry leaf from transplant shock.. they are healthy as the day they arrived, which by the way the package had sit in my neighbors metal mailbox allll day in out 89 degree weather and when i got them they werent even wilted!!! love this company and am getting ready to order from them again! I have yet to order from Brushwood (but will soon). I checked their site because of the high ratings on GWdog and liked what I saw.

Unfortunately, their site lacked some info, so I wrote them. Well, within 24 hours I received an intelligent, constructive response that not only answered my question but holds out the promise that Brushwood is getting even better.

My simply question and suggestion was to note which Passifloras are fragrant. Their response:

You're right. A great deal of information is missing on all of our plants. I personally hope to remedy the situation soon but the research involved has taken a back burner position due to some exciting changes that will appear son. We're in the process of converting to a new format for the site as ell as offering many new plants (several new Passifloras in the bunch).

Check back in about a week and see for yourself. I think you'll enjoy it! As far as the information, it could be a while before it gets to the site because our main shipping season is right around the corner.

We're also hoping to add many more pictures and growing instructions for all of our categories, but that's a huge project since we ship nationwide!

Received a very healthy plant, very fast. Packed execellent. Will do business with again.

Passiflora arrived quickly and was well packaged (I love the bio-degradable peanuts!). It was kinda small, but is now growing quickly, probably due to the all the heat and rain we've had. A pleasant order, and I'll be happy to do business with again. Hope my plant comes again next spring!

Although the plant was small, they do offer a picture of the size of their plants on their website. Documentation was also very good.

I had found Brushwood's website by accident. Glad I did! They had no problem changing my order before they shipped it. The two clematis I ordered arrived in wonderful condition and well packaged. Between the well established healthy plants, the free shipping and the bio-degradable peanuts I'll order again.

Every one of the preceding comments expresses my satisfaction with this company. They were prompt, personal; their packing was superb; and the plants were sturdy, well-rooted, moist and happy. This was only my first order, and only for three plants, but it was the best quality mailorder delivery I have every received!

We were very pleased with the way they packaged the clematis. The peanuts can also be used to compost or recycled cause they are made out of starch! I would definetely order for them again. +++++ Can't wait for them to bloom!

I ordered several variety of clematis from them in Feb. Dan was great to deal with. Later in March I added to my order and asked that my entire order be shipped together - it was. The plants arrived yesterday, healthy, some with blooms forming. I would order again.

They specialize in Clematis and answered my e-mail quickly and thoroughly. Best customer service I've had. When I placed my order I got a personal e-mail back acknowledging my order. The Clematis "The President" looks very healthy and strong.
