Did anyone ever have one of those Dodge Darts with the push-button transmission?
Cars
We saw lots of people gathered around a car we couldn't see. When the crowds parted, this is what we saw.
A 1965 Shelby Cobra kit car built in 2005. The guy took the paint off and polished the bare metal. it took him 18 months to get theshine he wanted. The stripes he did by taping and using sand paper and scotch brite. Another 4 months. Several coats of Clear Coat finished the job!
Hello Kwanjin,
Here's the link about Pont. GTO dictionary and on left side to see the year is 1966 to see the pix...

Nice red woodie!
Ha! Ha! about cop's license plate "Stick them up!"
Great photos, Kwanjin!
Thanks! We enjoyed the show.
It looks like the venue was nice, too - lovely trees. Somehow, the softer background makes the cars look even better.
It's a local park. Most of the cars were under trees. They were raising money for Coats For Kids. There was food and a band playing the oldies.
Sounds like fun! And a good cause, too.
Thanks kwanjin, I told ya they'd love your photos on this thread. I'm going to have to wait til DH get's home. He's the car guy. I go for the oldies music and people watching. LOL! Beautiful job of sharing, thanks so much! : )
I am so bad at ID'ing cars I once lost out on a job at a Nat'l Car Rental co. because I can't tell the maker, much less the model/year of a car. LOL! I'm just horrible at it.
But I do admire people who put their time and money into something historical (or maybe hysterical, some of those cars were really humorous!), besides my DH has to have something to do besides work all the time. Some day he will retire. I want to make sure he has a hobby!

Thanks, SW. Classic cars are a weakness of my DH and me. We watch all the shows of car auctions and restorations. Darrell (DH) is thinking maybe he'll take his car to the next show. I think he should.
This car fell in our laps. A guy he works with mentioned there was another fellow selling a car and was Darrell interested. Darrell told him no but then he looked at the ad on-line and couldn't believe his eyes. A 1991 C4 Ruby Red Corvette. Perfect condition, sun roof, all paperwork and only 17,500 miles on her! We called the guy and asked to look at it. Our eyes fell out of our heads when we saw her up close. There isn't a mark on her! The guy was asking such and such. Darrell offered such and such. The guy asked us to get off his property. Two days later the guy asked if our offer was still good. Darrell said, of course it is. And now she's ours.
I tease y'all about the Corvettes but they are a classic. kwanjin, I loved hearing your story of how Ruby came to live with you! She is a Jewel! : )
Oops, did she already have a name? I guess she does now! LOL! I have a thing about naming cars.
My little honda goes by Calypso, and my Jeep is Ninja White Lighting. I'm weird that way. I also have a tendency to call them War Ponies. LOL!

You made me laugh very loud and out loud!!! That IS her name! LOL
DH's old car was a Jag named Cat - now the SUV is Cat II. Carrying on the theme, my car is always Kitten. We tend to keep them a long time, so that makes it easy.
kwanjin, I'm glad you got a good laugh. It just fits her. Told DH the story of how you acquired her and he laughed. If he was awake I'd show him the photos. He knows cars and might be able to help you id the mystery car. Speaking of which I saw an old Dodge Dart that was painted pink and white. The guy driving just didn't seem to belong to it. LOL!
WIB,
SW
Oh! The mystery car is a Studebaker Champion. Still clueless on the year. 50s something.
