Are the little white things the eggs for onion maggots? Are my onions doomed?

I didn't cover my onions... : (

Well, I am pretty sure they are so I went ahead and yanked them. I didn't think they had got my chives in the front but they did. I read I could just cut those back and throw the tops away so I hope that is the case...

I found another photo online and that is what they are. And they did get my chives too. I am going to have to cut those back to the ground.

The good news is that I have tiny tomatos and my eight ball squash has both male and female flowers about to bloom! : )
