Time for another new thread...here is a link to the previous one http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/997453/ .
We have an Eastern Phoebe nest under the shop canopy and the parents spend most of the day catching bugs for the babies.
Daily Pic Vol. 221
cute!
Nice pics! Love the juvie jays!
Great start Rose! Love the Phoebe and the juvie Jays!
Thanks Lily, Ma and Pelle...the juvie Jays were a real treat!
Lily..I agree the Phoebes are hard workers...they wake us up every morning before daylight with their "fee-bee...fee-bee" call! They sound so sweet!
Here is one for Mrs. Ed...sorry no sunlight today so no catch light! We have these Eastern Meadowlarks all over the farm and I am hopeful that I can get some shots of juvies as there are sure a lot of them!
Nice ones Jane!
Jane that Vermilion Flycatcher is just stunning and congratulations on the new bird which is also a stunner!! I've never seen either of them!
Thanks Rose! You know how I love those sweet singers.
Thanks Rose. DH & I went up to the lake yesterday; so I got to see some birds that I don't normally see. Funny thing though, we didn't see a single duck or shorebird while we were there.
Jane, some colorful birds! I'd love to see that Vermillion in person somedays! Oh, the last one. I can't help with the I.D. but can tell you one thing. Dynamites come in small packages! LOL. Great shots!
No one large or small, likes to be pecked.
I'm not sure what bird is chasing the Raven but I see the Red-winged Blackbirds chasing Hawks and Turkey Vultures that dare to fly over their territory! DH calls it the "no-fly zone" and the Red-wings are very serious about it!! LOL! I've seen just one or as many as 6 doing the chasing!!
Rose was a stunning start...
...and Jane to just add even more great pics!!
WOW!
Nice colorful and unique bird shots so far. Pelletory...love the baby bluejays.
I met Lithiculm today at a birding spot on a humble. We struck up a conversation and come to find out the gentleman was Lithiculm...talk about coincidence. He was just telling me about one of his birding spots and we ended up there on the same day. We had a good time today. We met a young couple who catch and band birds...now I know how they do it.
Hey Lith
Met, how cool is that, both on meeting fellow birder and get to see how they band birds. Sounds like a nice weekend for both of you and Linth.
Was nice to catch up on the last thread. Great catch, on the bluebird family portrait, Frank. and now already 28 post to this thread. fantastic.
Thanks for starting with a great variety of birds, Rose.
I don't get as many bird lately. They must be busy, with nesting and providing for the youngs.
The Song Sparrow, that follows me around. They must have a nest close by, and tries to keep me away.
Any idea what the small yellow-bellied bird here is?
Western Kingbird (you can see the white sides to the tail, so not Cassin's) - kingbirds are famous for mobbing far larger raptors, etc.
Resin
Very nice shots guys!
Adel, You have 3 houses with Tree Swallows nesting? That's wonderful!
