I have started my first garden and so far all is well (except for my corn which is only food for worms). I want to plant potatoes but don't know when, how, etc. I live in South Texas near San Antonio. Anybody want to help out a clueless newbie?
Clueless about potatoes - Help!
You plant potatoes late in the fall or very early in the spring as they are cool weather plants. Here's a spring planting calendar for you. You might need to adjust the dates a bit because you're a little farther south than SA (but close enough to use the chart).

I forgot to mention that you should also search the forum for the instructions on growing potatoes in containers like trash cans. That might be something you'd want to try.
Thank you, Stephanie. Wish me luck!
