I was going to say those two look so cute. Well, I guess you can say that about both pictures. LOL
The doggy two are precious. It's so sweet how they're bonding.
Following Phoenix.......
Yes, tooooo cute!
Thank you all again for admiring my puppy. This is going to be a hard week of adapting for both of us. She has been with Mom 24/7 since I got her, and is now having to stay home with Dad instead. Some of the things that he works on just aren't acceptable for puppies to be around (welding, gas, etc.), so she will now have to be spending much more time on her own with the other dogs. She was OK when I left yesterday morning, but this morning I could hear her howl almost all the way down the hill. I know she will adapt, but it breaks my heart to hear her so upset.
She was my little helper again last night when I was working in the yard. I finally had time and energy to work on my own watering system, and Phoenix was helping me check the spray pattern.
I do LOVE her sleeping poses. Her little blue buddy is adorable.
Poor baby....spent all day missing mom, then played water sports!!! She is just soooooo relaxed!!!
I can't believe how big my baby is getting! She is now getting along really well with all of the dogs (when she is not hanging off of their faces by her teeth...they don't care for that game all that much), and Hunter and the shorthair twins even enjoy playing chase with her now.
I can't believe how big my baby is getting! Remember the picture of the tiny ball curled up next to daddy on their first day home alone? Check out this big stretch monster! She covers half the length of the bed!
Looks like your 'baby' is gonna be a big dog!!
Forgot to say, she is soooooo cute!

She weighed in at 18 pounds today..a little over ten weeks. She has her Momma's (not mine, but her real momma....OK, mine too!!) love of food. She is a chowhound! Her Momma is a chunk-a-munk at 85 pounds and I think she will get close!
^_^
It's been a while since I posted, but not due to lack of love for my puppy, due to lack of time for the Mommy! It has bee seven puppy pounds ago in fact...the beast weighed in at 25 pounds a couple of days ago!
I can't believe how quickly my baby is growing! She now towers over Gigit, and is looking more dog that puppy (not counting her adorable little facial expressions!). She is spending a lot more time playing with the big dogs now, and they have started to really enjoy playing with her (in short spurts at least...then some of them tell her that is ENOUGH!).
She had her first outdoor party adventure on the Fourth when we went down the hill with family and friends to have a bonfire and watch the fireworks. I took her with us as I didn't know how she would react to the bangs and booms (you can hear them very well at my house, just can't see them) so wanted to make sure I was there if they scared her. Didn't phase her a bit....she ran and played through the whole airel display like it wasn't even happening. She was the Belle of the Ball as everyone wanted to hold and play with the puppy, so she was instantly out like a light when we got home.
Here are a couple of pics from the last couple of weeks.
She and Lexy have gotten very good at sharing the moving blanket Mom hauls around the hard for her.
She has gotten to be quite the ham for the camera, and it is hard for me to get candid shots anymore. I wish I had been fast enough to get this one when it was just a Mountain Dew box with feet and ears flopping above it coming down the driveway, but this was as good as I got. It was a prize that she stole out of DH's shop and was running away with.
Julie..she is just darling!
The Sunday after the Fourth was a blessedly peaceful doggie day. All of the pups were totally worn out from playing in the field and staying up late. Went to Mom's for coffee in the AM, and although Phoenix's normal routine is to spend the first half an hour there terrorizing Gigit, that morning she went straight to the bed!
Thanks Julie for the updates! I will doggie sit for you anytime!!
Be careful what you wish for, Lynn. Mommie 2
Love the pictures Julie, thank you for giving us an update. In that one in the bed, looks like she's hung over!! LOL Glad the noise didn't bother her, that can be a big problem. She gets prettier all the time.
PNW, aren't you Mommie 2? I think of myself as Auntie, then she can always go back home to Mommie!
Lynn, I think that the "going back home to Mommie" part is what Mommie2 was talking about. If Don and I leave for a short while, Phoenix gets bored and heads up to Mommie2's house...whether she wants her or not! She has also discovered Gigit's doggie door, so easily lets herself into the house. We went to dinner last night and I had to walk up and get her when I got home...she was comfortably sleeping in Gigit's dog bed at the base of Mommie2's bed. Mommie2 keeps repeating "I didn't need another dog" :).
Yep, Lynn, I am Mommie2. Didn't want to assign that to you, even though it kind of looked that way in my post. Auntie is always a good position to be in. Can get away when desired!
Ahhhh, but she's such a love. LOL
Julie....you should rent those two out as entertainment!! What fun!!
Sally, It is such a joy to watch them play....as long as it is in the lawn and not the garden trail! It's kind of hard on the toys though...Phoenix is learning all about the difference between "inside" toys and "outside" toys! The outside ones are destined never to return!
She is getting lanky, but is still just cute as a button!
Do you get your outside toys at thrift stores, that's what we always did. Yes she's growing into those feet! My cats are sitting as close as possible right now. One is watching the screen over my shoulder. We've had thunder and lightning for the last hour and I just came in from the yard. MAMA I'm scared!! LOL
Still in heaven with my 30+ pounder, but she is definitely showing her "puppy terror" side these days. Nothing drastic, but a lot of testing the limits. I couldn't resist sharing this photo...she had to have a bath last night, and we had a fan going to cool down the house, as well as all of the windows open. After her bath, she was digging down into her bed in an attempt to cover herself...I think she was chilly. I covered her up with her inkie, and after a glare at mom for opening the camera AGAIN...she immediately went to sleep.
LOL So cute.
Ahhhhhh....how can you throw out that cute little thing! How cruel.
LOL. That "cute little thing" has the best nose out of all of our hunters, and can now very easily reach the countertops...and after two weeks still doesn't understand why she shouldn't. She is my little snuggle buddy, but it is time she became a shop dog as my house is very tiny. Fortunately, I will be gone for a week starting next weekend, so DH can be the bad guy that enforces the "outside" rule. The other plus is that right now, she would way rather be outside than in the house...unless of course we are eating....
ROFLOL
My sweet Lexy crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend, and now Phoenix has "big paws to fill" as Mommy's best girl. I don't have any question that she knew that Mommy was very sad this weekend....she was always at my side and I got lots of extra luvs.
She is in her "terrible two's" right now... her favorite game is "snatch and run" with anything that happens to be set down for even an instant. Fortunately, we haven't had any devestating chewing instances....but the day is young.
She is still absolutely adorable, but it is sad to realize that she has turned from a "puppy" into a "little dog".
She is so adorable Julie! Just want to squeeze her!
Such a sweet face!!
Julie, I'm so so very sorry about Lexy. Doesn't really help to know it's coming. I know you're missing your girl very much . . .
I just now Got caught up on this tread, so sorry with your loss of Lexy at least you where with her. Puppies heal the pain. Was 1 year after My Buddy's tragic accident, ( car accident that my DH was T boned in and Buddy had a heart attack, at least that is what they told me) that I could get another dog. I got Ester Black Lab found her in a kennel , but went to look at a differant dog the guy had a male. They where both in the the same kennel, both 1 year old and the same size, but he was only focused on one thing a ball. I went into the kennel to see him and see if he was compatable with me, the dog was crazy he beat me up not kidding. But as I was in the kennel, this big lovable black lab came to me, I had bruises trying to play with this crazy dog to like him. NOT
I needed a big dog for the home front.
So I had to fall in love with her and she fell in love with me, they did not want to part with her. She Belong to to a Indian lady and was named after her. after a hour or more they agreed. I can have the pup, but only if I never change her name. That was in 2002
She is my shadow and my best friend, but Steve told me She may be going blind. But my vet. has not seen that as yet.
