My Philodendron drips water at the edges?

Sterling, VA(Zone 7a)

Why does this plant shed tears (so to speak)? (Philodendron, Pink Princess, Arum raceae). It's strange as there was no observed condensation or drips from above. Could this be a reaction to a possible overwatering experince? Does anyone know? Otherwise the plant is doing fine, but I've never seen this trait before. Thanks, Snug, :o)

That's called guttation. See the wikipedia article for an explanation.
