The flower stems are breaking and some leaves are deformed. The stems are dry and brown and breaking. The life has been sucked out of the stems. The blooms are almost ready to open. My beautiful magenta flowers!!! Now I have to cut them all off the plant and hope they will bloom in water. I noticed some white fly/hopper insects when I brush the leaves. The brown areas seem to be coming from the stems and near the joints. Also I noticed some white cottony residue in that area. Does anyone know what this insect is?
my peonie is infested, the stems are brown
It would help if you could post some pictures--sounds like you may have a few different problems going on.
I will try and do that soon, its raining quite a bit right now. Thanks
