I have some leftover 29-0-4 lawn fertilizer and would like to use it on flowers and/or veggies.
I realize that it's not the best thing for this, but I'm guessing that it would be better than NO fertilizer.
True? TIA.
Using a lawn fertilizer
That's an awful lot of nitrogen, too much nitrogen tends to stimulate lots of green growth often at the expense of blooms--great for grass but not so great for most other things. If you don't want to let it go to waste, you can probably save it and use it again on the lawn next year but I'd get a more balanced fertilizer for your flowers & veggies.
Ok, thanks for your advice!
I don't even fertilize my flowers so I'd def save it for the lawn .
For flowers, you're better off with something like Flowertone (I only use organic), which I think is 3-4-5....MUCH less nitrogen and the flowers will look great.
