how do I prune potted petunias to keep them full and bushy and not leggy?
pruning petunias
Some petunias do trail, but I always kept them not so leggy by just pinching off the ends of new growth. I did this throughout the summer on whatever stems started to get long. Also make sure you remove spent blooms. Petunias need full sun, so make sure yours are getting enough. This will also help keep them from getting too leggy.
when you pull off the dead blooms, make sure you get the whole little stem also, where the flower comes out. pinch below the flower. this will keep it full.
