Thanks, Bill!

Nice pics, Shelly, and thanks! Love your rhodies and poppy!

I like your lupines, Sherrie! I only have one blooming now, and only one bloom stalk on it. :(

Nice poppy pics, Carrie! They look like the same ones I have, and I don't know what cultivar mine are either. That's a gorgeous double columbine, even though it's not one of the McKana's Giants. I don't know about Nora Barlow. It doesn't have the white edges that Nora has.

Robin, thanks! I love your PW rhodie. Very nice!

Nice collage on Picasa, Jo Anne! Was there just the one?

Okay, now to go check out the new thread!!!!!

Karen, those are the insides that DD sees. I can only see the outside which is a poppy red, not that orange. Or I should say those oranges! I have maybe three different kinds, shorter, taller, and rosier.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Nice!

Just peeking in to enjoy looking at all your garden pictures wonderful pictures. Here is is one at the edge of my woods.

I to have lots of flowers nothing very exotic, and I have a hard time remembering all their proper names except a rose is a rose an Iris is an Iris and so on, blame it on my age but at least I still can work the gardens without any help, though I do tumble a few times lifting heavy loads of compost and mulch, except mowing the grass, won't get me on one of those mowers not at 80 years old.

Hi Maria!! Pretty shot.

Port Washington, NY(Zone 7a)

Lovely scene. I can only hope that I will be able to garden like you at 80. My Grandmother gardened until her very last day so I think it's in my blood. Very inspiring.

Maria, that's a great scene! I applaud you at being able to still garden and manage it all by yourself at 80. That's a wowser in my book!

Come join us on the new thread: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/997597/ . Lots of great stuff going on!

Whew it's getting hard to keep up! Only part way through but jumped to the bottom to tell Cousin Nut that the lupins come and go for me every 3-4 years but they self sow so I always have new ones. I do think the Chandelier http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/124081/ is sterile though cuz it's never made babys. Easy/peasy to grow from seed though.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

What time of year do lupins bloom (duh...)?

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Now for you or maybe earlier I think carrielamont. Any time in June for me depending on how late/cold the spring is.

Milton, MA(Zone 6a)

Whoops - I have some WS ones to transplant. I guess it's past time.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

They don't bloom the first year for me. I would get them in the ground though as they aren't crazy about being transplanted once they get big. I move/give away the selfsown seedlings when they are about 4-6 inches.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Cousin Nut, if Chandelier is sterile than how can one get seeds from it? I did grow a lot of lupins from seed this year, through the WS method. I've gotten some planted, but have many more to go.

Karen

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

That's a very good question Cousin Nut. Maybe needs another specific variety to make whoopy??? Fertile but reverting to another colour so not sterile but incognito????

Who knows? Such is the mystery of life!

Prettiful yellow lupin boojum. Does it make yellow babys?

Shelburne Falls, MA(Zone 5a)

Not for me.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Drat. Thanks boojum. I was hoping there was a yellow baby maker out there.

Rehoboth, MA(Zone 5a)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I have a yellow Lupine but not in bloom yet. My red & purple are in full swing... the yellow gets more shade than the others.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Boojum, what a great picture! I love the color combo of the yellow lupine with the blue Sib iris behind it. Fantastic!
