karen no problem on the sedum although it looks great as do all the other pics you have posted or wanted to post:)
victor thx for the heads up on the spirea - i will have to think about what to do with the dozen little guys lj sent - the fire pit is real close to them-think?
dayne i take it you just got the lady in red? mine does not have flower heads yet and i admit to being jealous:)
Garden Photo's 09 .........24
Dyane...love the shots of the scabiosa and anemone!
Karen.... all the pics are very pretty. i really like those two of the digitalis, near the house, in the sunset.
Robin... I love that corydalis!! You might not have planted it. It reseeds pretty well, so if one of your neighbors had it or it's possible that it came in as a seed in the pot of another plant. I acquired one that way one time. The generations kept going for a few years until the sprinkler system broke and I didn't realize that they weren't getting watered.
Victor... that penstemon fits it's name!
Jo Ann... for one of my pictures in the thread before this, you said that you'd never seen a rhody flower that looked like that one ( http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/fp.php?pid=6622191 )
It was backlit, so I figured under normal lighting it might look a little more normal. Although, it was actually pretty dim for the time of day, but light enough.
Hi RC
Rhodies aree beautiful.
I must have had a geezer moment when I remarked about the rhodie pix.
Backlit made the center dark so it looked like a single form flower with a dark center like a cone flower, How could I have been so off base.
very pretty RC
nice lupines sherrie
Carrie - tell artsy DD good job! I love the closeup. It would make an awesome B&W poster, don't you think?
Very pretty. It already looks similar to a Van Gogh painting.
Bill, I just picked up Lady in Red two weeks ago.
Nice Lupines, shickenlady.
Thanks Jo Ann. I thought that normal lighting might make it appear a little more normal. Although the flower that you were describing does exist, it's just much harder to find.
Thanks Allison!
Very pretty Sherrie and Carrie.
Shelley, I'm drooling over those rhodies----they probably aren't hardy here---you're right about the corydallis----I think it came in a pot with another plant. Karen---love the penstemons----I only have buds on one right now---we are a little colder here. Sherrie, I envy the lupines---cannot get them to winter over! And Carrie----very nice shots of the OP. Dyane, like Bill, I only have leaves on 'Lady in Red'---but it overwintered & I'm happy with that! Here is rhodie 'Percy Wiseman'.
Thanks Robin. What zone are you in?
robin - i've had my LiR for a couple years and only the first year was it red - it sprayed it with fast acting lime this year in the hopes it will be rd again - just and fyi
shelly really like that poppy even if a mole got at the roots - i have my first ever poopy bloom open right now need to get a pic for proof:)

Here's what's happening at my house.
It is a double form--look at columbines listed as a form of 'Barlow' (maybe with an e on the end') & you will see other doubles.
Ahhh ..... that explains it then. I was quite surprised to see it as a double when I was expecting something entirely different. I'll go check out the Barlow's.
Thanks
Sherrie, looks great
RC, love all the rhodie pics, mine are all done for the season
Carrie, very cool poppy close up
LOL!
That's exactly the package that we bought them in. I'll bet they were mis-labeled. Now, I'll be scratching my head as the rest of them unfurl.
Thanks Sherrie
Sure looks like 'Aquilegia vulgaris var. stellata', Nora Barlow to me.
What do you think?

Thank you everyone -- to me DD's close-ups look like Georgia O'Keefe! that's what college does for you. Very pretty flowers everybody.
