My cantaloupe plants are growing by leaps and bounds, flowering great, and some of them are about 6-7 feet long, but I am not seeing any cantaloupe yet! Am I just inpatient, or am I doing something wrong? Any info and help appreciated. Dona
cantaloupe problem??
Sounds like you lack patience. Barring trauma, plants do their thing on their time clock.
I'm in the same boat. Seems like when I look, all the flowers are males and no females. I'm waiting for the females to show up for the party. :)
Yea....Stephanie and I are at the same party (Zone 8a) and none of girls have shown up yet. Well...I take that back. I do have a 'sunburst' squash with a couple of girls.
Yup, been there. I'm in zone 9 and planted an established plant from the local nursery on March 15. I kept waiting and waiting and waiting and they kept growing and growing and flowering and growing but nothing. Two days ago, we got our first baby!
It's a patience thing...sigh
Then they take so long to grow up!
Yes, but before you know it, your little canteloupes will be all grown up and you'll have so many you'll be tired of looking at them.
Thanks for the encouragement, ya'll. I guess I'll just gather tomatoes and cukes for a little longer, and wait on the cantaloupe. Thanks, Dona.
