I know this might seem like a stupid question, and I am embarrassed to ask, but if we are too embarrassed to ask possibly silly questions we never learn right?
So here's my question: what does it exactly mean when in the back of a seed packet under zones it says March-September? Does it mean I can seed these particular seeds anytime between March and September, September being the latest I can seed to get a decent harvest? Or, does it mean that the seeds are to be planted in March and the growing season for that specific vegetable runs from seeding in March through harvesting in September?
Thanks everyone for your patience......aunt Busy
How to read seed labels?
It means that you can plant any time between March and September. There should also be an entry on the package that says so many days, which is the number of days from planting the seed to first harvest.
No stupid questions - if you don't ask, you never know.
Thank you Kathleen, that is exactly how I understood it, but a friend told me it meant the full growing season from seeding to harvest. Now I know for sure :-).
Thanks again.
You're welcome!
