I accidently uprooted my clematis. It was growing and I was weeding and I pulled the wrong thing. Help I don't want to lose my clematis. It has taken me about 3 years to get it established.
clematis
All you can really do is replant it and then treat it as if it was something that was newly planted. If most of its roots came up with it then it's got a good chance to make it, but it may go through a bit of transplant shock and it will have to get established all over again (hopefully won't take three years again though!) If you only got a little bit of roots when you pulled it up and you think most of the rootball was left behind, then you may need to trim the top growth back a bit to be more proportional to the amount of roots it has left.
