EmmaGrace 2009 Morning Glories
Emma, I think that this is one I got from you at the Jacksonville Roundup last spring...missed you at this one.
Angel Feather ‘Pink Angel Wings’
"eyes"
Hello 'eyes'
Yes, I missed being there, however, I did go by just to say hello and got there just as everyone was leaving and only saw a few folks.
See you next time.
Emma
Wow, awesome blooms Emma!!
Helena
Thanks Helena
I may have sent you seeds of Plum Frost x Fuji Mine to grow out.
I can't remember
Emma
very lovely... the first couple are gorgeous :)
Outstanding blooms Emma.
Emma - Love your Plum Frost x Fuji Mine and the Raspberry Red Hige! Both are lovely!!! And I like your Pink Angel Wings, too!
I have a question ... how do you get the hige/feather blooms? In other words, what causes them? I've never seen any splits on mine at all. Which is why I am asking...
Thank you FrangipaniAz, Jackie and Becky . . .

I am still looking for Ron's very detailed explanation and differences of HIGE/FEATHERED Morning Glories. I'll keep looking.
Becky - So, you are saying you have never grown a HIGE Morning Glory with deep splits?
I will need to send you some of mine.
They are great Morning Glories, and you can come up with some awesome creations by cross-pollinating. And . . . I still have HUNDREDS of my crosses that I haven't grown out yet. Some should be really awesome blooms.
This year I am also going to try for a HIGE Baby Blue-Flaked
and HIGE Seiwa Flaked
This one you will love. My HIGE Bluish-Purple Flaked
Emma
Emma, is this Ron's link explaining hige's that you're looking for? - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/701809/
That hige bluish-purple flaked MG looks like something a hypnotist could twirl around to mesmerize a subject...must be too much rain around here
wow... that one's gorgeous...
Thank you FrangipaniAz -
Yes, K-Blue, That is it!
Thanks so much -
Emma
Emma - I HAVE grown Higes/Feather MGs. I was wondering what caused them to become split. Thanks for Ron's link. Are these splits strictly to be found on I. purpureas or can you get splits with I. nils?
Emma, the Bluish Purple Flaked Hige is a beauty, really special.
Thank you Jackie -
Yes, the HIGE Purple-Flaked is a treat to grow.
Becky -
The HIGE/Feathered-Type blooms reference Ipomoea purpurea with with the Feathered genes.
Yes, you can get splits on I. nils.
Wider splits to Amazing and Exotic splits.
These would be fun to study
