winter flowering shrub from seed (Zone 10b)

lahore, Pakistan(Zone 10b)

Hello,

Can some one tell me any winter/autumn flowering perennial or shrub which can be propagated from seed. Temp in our winter does not go beyond 5C. I am a beginner and want to sow something hardy which can be planted in a container and which could flower in its first year. also the temp in summer here can reach over 100F. Fragrance would be plus. Thanks.

I have given this a lot of thought, and I don't think there's any plant that meets all of these needs. I'm sure someone out there will be able to give you some suggestions for perennials that can be started that will flower in one years time.

I'm the same as growgirl59. I read this yesterday but I don't know anything that would flower in winter.

You could always try a Holly Bush, they don't flower but they do get nice colourful nice berries on them.

I have Nerine bowdenii bulbs...they apparently flower in Autumn, but they aren't a shrub.

My neighbour had a beautiful shurb that flowered every winter, I was going to get a cutting this spring...however mid winter she re-did her garden and threw it away.
