Post your daylily blooms part 2

Deep East Texas, TX(Zone 8a)

I've never been a fan of the "chicken fat" but this bloom glows like the sun.

This is my favorite, it blooms first and is fragrant. This one began to bloom a month ago today.

Love the Frans Hall show. I don't understand "chicken fat" , but it is a beauty.

Double Love is gorgeous!

Chicken fat is what some growers call the ruffled yellow border on that bloom.
What is the Frans Hall show?

I have many different blooms that resemble those named varieties but hate to call them that when I really don't know.
This bloom favors your Byzantine Emperor.

Post #6640367 of Frans Hall from Charlene.
Double love was sent as a substitute one time in an order. I didn't like it b/c it wasn't "part of the plan" but that has changed!

I gotcha ~ when I searched for Frans Hall, it didn't show up as it was posted Frans Hal above... sorry.

Baja put on a line-up for me yesterday.

Pod,I think you "BE" is a nicer version. I will try to post mine soon. Thanks for the chicken fat explanation. My Grandma used to boil chicken fat and skin with onions until the onions and skin were golden brown. The fat was used like butter spread. It sounds gross, esp now that we know how bad that is...but it was delicious! I guess I will need a chicken fat DL now.

Actually, I will post 9, not 10. My picture of Red Grace (number 10) does not look good and I am too lazy to go outside and take another.

Here's Purple Waters. It's hiding in the back where it can't be seen behind the hibiscus that is twice as tall. It's got to be moved this fall.

Lovely collection Sneezel. I especially love malaysian monarch and Winter Masquerade.

Keep 'em coming. I love the pics. I have missed the last few of my pretties. I just haven't had the camera handy when I needed it. Then I got too tired to get it and go back out in the heat. LOL

Sweezel, the Malaysian Monarch is really pretty.

Banana, I love the Siloam June Bug. That is one of mine that I didn't get photographed.
I hope I can catch some more new blooms later this week.

Here's what the previous owners left me. They finally bloomed about a week ago. I've got the best showing in years. I also have an orange one. Names are unknown.

Charlene - I LOVE your "pure gold" DL!

Carl, the orange one is really gorgeous. :)

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

Hmm I think I probably don't have Night Beacon as it looks nothing like yours. Another mislabel oh well

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

My Little Business is much redder. Maybe b/c it is shade

Patricia, night beacon is awesome. The carpenters shavings I got from you last fall bloomed. I missed getting it photographed though. It was beautiful. Thank you for it.

I don't think it's the same plant, bananna18, the leaves aren't even shaped the same. I don't have many daylilies, so I have no idea which one is correct. Yours looks kind of like this one of mine, which I think is Rosy Returns.

(Lynn) Paris, TX(Zone 7b)

No, they're not the same either, now the I can see the petal edges and throat.

Colleyville, TX(Zone 8a)

You are right, it does look more like rosy returns. So much for labels........

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

Irwell's, It looks like it's your little business that is mislabled. Little Business is a short dark red minature. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/24218/

(Lynn) Paris, TX(Zone 7b)

Well, I don't know much about daylilies, so I have no idea what I got.
