This is my favorite, it blooms first and is fragrant. This one began to bloom a month ago today.
Love the Frans Hall show. I don't understand "chicken fat" , but it is a beauty.

I have many different blooms that resemble those named varieties but hate to call them that when I really don't know.

Pod,I think you "BE" is a nicer version. I will try to post mine soon. Thanks for the chicken fat explanation. My Grandma used to boil chicken fat and skin with onions until the onions and skin were golden brown. The fat was used like butter spread. It sounds gross, esp now that we know how bad that is...but it was delicious! I guess I will need a chicken fat DL now.

I don't think it's the same plant, bananna18, the leaves aren't even shaped the same. I don't have many daylilies, so I have no idea which one is correct. Yours looks kind of like this one of mine, which I think is Rosy Returns.
No, they're not the same either, now the I can see the petal edges and throat.
