I pleaded with them to take me, but I got the watering job instead.. we are trading seeds for mg seeds, I have to get her to growing mgs and jmgs since she has such a pretty perfect place.. her gardens she has had put in look as pristine and pretty as yours.. but they live in a really new house . in a new area with a lake for their back yard view..

Debra - Those are beautiful! Mine are still young vines. Next year should be a good year for mine. One of the popular places to order Clematis is http://www.silverstarvinery.com/contact.asp. I always read about this place on the Clematis Forum. Though I haven't had the good fortune to buy one from them yet. There are two more Clematis that I really want: Florida Sieboldii and Crystal Fountain ''Evipo038' . The first one that you posted looks a little like Bees Jubilee. Not sure about the white one.

How awesome that your Raikou JMG is still blooming by late afternoon! Now that is what I call a near perfect JMG!!! LOL!

One more of Pink Porcelain. I consider this a cottage garden bloom color! :-)

Wow
:D

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Darren! If you want anything just tell me! really, I thought we were going to trade something anyway?? ws it cross vine or something like that? I have some I.Batatas left over, let me know.. and tomatoe plants out the kazoo LOL, lets see, also some other cool things you would like.. I started my tomatoes inside this winter, u know i love growing things in the winter..

Darren - Your daylily is beautiful! Love the colors of that one! I have a slew of them growing from seeds I received, but will have to wait 3 years to see the true colors on the blooms. :-( I'm so impatient ...

Debra - I took the ducks to the Feed and Farm Supply Store. Owner's wife fell in love with them. She said that she doesn't sell any of her animals for food. Only as pets or ornamental animals. The Roen ducks were breed for beauty, not as a food source. Apparently, they don't have a lot of meat on them. They also don't fly much. They were breed for swimming and waddling about as ornamental birds by folks with ponds/lakes. She was so excited to get them and couldn't get over how tame they are. They would eat out of my hand as well as the young students hands. I miss them. But they were just getting too big for the space I had for them. I hope they all go to good homes. If I had lots of land with a pond, I'd have kept them all! LOL! My dad's family were farmers. I am sure I have that in my blood. I love gardening, animals, and everything about nature. I could easily go to live on a farm. I wouldn't miss shopping malls or big cities at all. I'm a country girl at heart! :-)

I love your I.Batata "blackie". I just gotta find some of those to grow, too! I am fast becoming a potatoe growing fan! :-)

I wanted to start a veggie garden this year, but that would require a new raised bed to be built. Funds are not allowing that at this time ... maybe later! I need more raised beds in my backyard and veggies were the next plants I wanted to try! :-) I have also seen those hanging baskets for tomatoes and cukes. I am thinking that is another way to go. And have you seen the big sacks you can grow potatoes in? Another - gotta try ... some day idea! :-) See ... I'm definitely a farm girl! :-) I could raise cows, goats, chickens, ducks, horses ... and rabbits, too! I just couldn't eat them! I'd be a vegetarian farmer and have these animals as pets! LOL! I get too attached to animals to slaughter them ...

I've got company, but have a moment right now to post some more photos. This rain has done wonders for my garden beds! It's simply beautiful out there with everything blooming!

Here is my red rose bush pot with pink Mums growing in the pot, too, right next to the picket fence where one of the Blue Star blooms is peeking through. Love all the contrasting colors in this photo!

This is one of Antoinette's crosses. Ya might just take a glance at it and move on ... but let me tell you ... it blooms a LOT, the flowers are larger, and it jumps out at me from the green foliage. A labeled this beauty - Picotee Pink NOT x Fuji no Sora.

White Kikyou. This one blooms every day! Just love it!! I need to plant a pot of these. It would look beautiful with the dark green foliage and the nice white blooms!

Daylilies. Can't remember the name. ACK! Too many plants now to remember the cultivar unless I have it written down somewhere. I am cross pollinating the daylilies now too. :-) I love daylilies!!

NOID daylily grown from seed. Not it's true bloom colors until year 3. This is it's second year. Love the ruffled petals. I am cross pollinating this one with the above one. :-)

Cashmere blooms. So pretty. Bees were all over this one earlier!

Thumbnail by beckygardener
(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

The Cashmere bush is in a small pot! Doesn't seem to mind. This bush is highly invasive (runners) in my zone. I have to keep this bad boy contained. But I really love it! I need to pot it up into a larger pot. :-)

Pink Porcelain Blizzard! My beautiful baby! I love this vine!!! I am so glad that I was able to collect a few seeds from it when I grew it last seaon. It did not want to be pollinated. Thank goodness my persistence paid off! :-)

I posted the above photo of the corner of the garden to show you the size of the Red Flare Caladiums I am growing there. This is their second year. Got these tubers/bulbs on sale (half price) at Wally World when they were clearancing all their Spring plants over a year ago. Look at the size of these leaves! OMG! I had no idea that they would get this big!!! I love the color and pattern on them. Caladiums seem to love the Florida climate. :-)

And here is the flower of that Caladium. It is loaded with pollen, but I have no idea where to pollinate this flower at. Anyone know? It would be cool to do some crossing with Caladiums. I'm becoming the paint brush garden fairy! LOL!
