Jaye, don't know about these tummy issues....I have had one for about two weeks now...one of the Seattle area schools have about 300 kids out with some kind of tummy issues...they don't know what yet.......

Not good at all BBBBBBBBBBUT had lots of fun with my sister and her Hubby lost it all but I do save for this I have no idea what I am going to do for the last race we will see Other than that work and like today I had some time to work around the house I did burn the grass in spots so try it get them back to life You learn by your Expensive mistakes True

When I had my dogs I used Hydrated Lime on the grass. Not only did it kill the smell of urine but it made the grass GREEN again.

I used Tomato juice but I did kill spots with fertilizer buy throwing I have now got myself a spreader for that and grass seed its only been 3 days and the seed looks like rice we shall see

oK,, AFTER HOURS AND HOURS, they came in and told her he has a summer cold!! He was coughing so hard he could not catch his breath. So he has some medicine and is here with me now. He and Goober will be spending the night and helping me pack. So Marion and Deborah will get to meet my babies tomarrow!
Gryphon and Goober says ya'll have to take very good care of thier Nana and Goober says " Well I never been to Texas, how come you get to go!!" LOL

So I feel better now, but it was nerveracking to wait and wait!!

Got to go pack, clean house and feed the kids,, not nessarely in that order... Goober does like to eat!!
Will be back later after everyone is alseep and chat some more.

Yes, he was a very good man. Thing is it took him 22 years to finally get up the nerve to ask me to marry him. He was an excellant carpenter too. Wished I had pix of the two baby cradles he made. One for his daughter (who is now in a nut house, long story) and one for my daughter. He projects had to be perfect or he didn't finish them,lol.

Cindy... how could anything that good looking be tacky to post here... SHEESH... he's a handsome man... and you're a beautiful lady... Such a cute couple.

Had to feed these guys an big dinner so they'd be too full to eat any more cookies... sheesh, I'm going to have to start baking all over again.

Nothin' is going right today... the banana nut bread (not Jaye's) fell apart... the bottom stuck to the bottom of the loaf pan... but, we're going to have it anyway this weekend...
AND, the apple sauce cake sat to cool in the pan for about 20 mins while we ate dinner... I went to turn it out onto the cake plate, and it also fell apart... was a disaster... tastes wonderful... but it's got ugly written all over it now... UGH...

Don had something to print, but our black cartridge was out of toner... so, he went to Corsicana to get one... and came home with a bunch of other stuff... A SMOKER for one... and about 7 different flavors of wood chips... guess he's going to smoke the brisket this weekend... *** mind you, he's never smoked one before... so, we might be in for another disaster.
BUT, he was so proud of himself... so don't anyone breath a word.
He also bought us some skewers... the kind you use at campfires... because I told him that Stacey wants a bonfire, and roast marshmallows... guess we're doing Smores too.

The guy accross the street was down today to do some last minute fixes on his house for the big weekend. He's having A BIG party there too, and has hired a band. We can all go over to another neighbor's house with our lawn chairs and blankets on the ground to listen if we want to...
But, the big thing for me is... while he had help today, he got that blasted canoe out of our way... it's his now.

Think I'll go out and see how the assembly of the new smoker is coming along... this should get weally weally intersting before the weekend is over.

ROFLOL well BJ things going wrong must have been happening to all of us. Finished the lemon cake and sat it to close to the edge of the counter--started fall be managed to catch it before it hit the floor--still in container but as you say: taste great but doesn't look so good! Like an earthquake hit a section of it.

Kris, I am so relieved Gryphon is okay and it was nothing more serious than a summer cold. Of course, they can be the absolute worst!! See you about noonish tomorrow. Now where is the Georgia Peach? Deborah, see you about 10!!! Oh my! it is really here. Be still my tummy!!!!

Going over my check list just to make sure I have things--especially my clothes!! When I went down for the festival I got about 50 miles from Tally and remembered I hadn't packed my suitcase in the car. Yeap, turn around and come back as I was going to be gone for a week. Rough being blond!! Or is that CRS?

BJ, that is so sweet of Don to get a smoker. He truly wants us to have the best Texas food experience. Don't you and Maid M worry too much about how the cakes looks.. it's the taste that counts.

One more day.. I am sure by tomorrow my stomach will have settled down.

Making one last Dave's reading before turning in. Larry wants everyone's phone number and address so I'm making a list for him. Seems he really really is getting the idea that I really really am going. LOL When I talk to ya'll again, Marion, Kris and I will be in TEXAS!

WHAT a day. Well last night went to put the birds up, I spot something move and take off running the opposite way............its a snake. Well dumb butt that I am married to decides to tackle it with a 2x4 and then try and pick it up. Got him on the finger. Ok think it is a copper head. then today upon further inspection its a pygmy rattler aka ground rattler. Took him (had to almost drag him kicking and screaming) to the ER. He is now in ICU, not that it is life threatening, just so he gets constant monitoring. He may lose his finger. Thank god we still have medical insurance. We should know more tomorrow.

Wow Tina, that's scary! I hope they can save his finger. Praying for better days for you.

Jaye... the apple sauce cake tastes great... and it's getting served just like it is... but it looks like a tornado hit it. So, don't laugh.

Son #1 and I had a great laugh on the phone last night. I had to call him to tell him that he's off the hook... he doesn't have to smoke the brisket. I know he cooks the BEST brisket I've ever had, and Don had to go take that job away... so I have no idea how this brisket is going to turn out.
Don went and bought an electric smoker... it's a box on legs, with a door in the front and 3 shelves inside. Steven has a wood smoker, 55 gal barrel type with a smoke stack... built on a trailer with wheels. It's the kind that you can pull behind your vehicle.
Kinda scary to know I'm going to serve a brisket to my guests that I have no idea how it's going to turn out... PRAY... PRAY real hard that Don gets it right.

Got to finish up my stuff today... so I can clear out of the way tomorrow... I did hire a lady to come in and freshen everything up tomorrow. Shhh... Don doesn't know it yet. She's just going to dust, sweep, mop, and clean bathrooms and kitchen... everything else is done.

How exciting for all of you going to BJ's.
Snakes eewww!!! The main highway leading from here to my mom's is litterly covered with squashed snakes. And they are mostly brown and white. The other day when I was coming back down here from mom's there was one crossing the road, stupid me I swerved to miss it. It gave me the creeps seeing it there. This is the valley and it gets pretty hot here so they are searching for cool places to lay but I have no clue where they are going to find any shade here.

I'm heading out the door mach 4 with my hair on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I talked Don into smoking the brisket today... just in case it doesn't cut the mustard... hehehe... I really should have more faith in him... I'm so ashamed.
BUT, if it turns out... we can go ahead and slice it, then warm it up in the grill Sat morning while we're cooking the other stuff.
If it doesn't turn out right... we still have time to go back to plan A.

Better get back to my doings...

I'll be thinking about you all this weekend! I would have LOVED to be there, just couldn't afford a plane ticket AND a motel! Have fun!

Hi Jaye, my mom just loaned me a little book called Adventures in Prayer by Catherine Marshall......I am just getting started on it but it is really a good book....119 pages total for $6.99 retail.

Had a guy who stays with the kids across the street come in either high or drunk about seven last night....took out the mailboxes at the end of the street made it to their house and hit their car....we had fire trucks, medics, police all over the neighborhood! At least none of the kids were out when he came through!! They took him away in handcuffs..........

Trisha, I had my old mailbox beaten up too by a 14 year old punk! He got caught.. wrecking other mailboxes. They made his parents replace the mailboxes.

I need to send you a copy of this great book I'm reading Trisha. But will look for yours on CBD.

Cindy, we'll ask his ex wife to pick up the mail for us. We'll be long gone before the mailperson gets here.

Sorry I posted in the quilting thread thought I had posted here. He is going to be ok. they are pumping him full of IV biotics till in the morning. Then home in the morning with oral. Like that will happen. OMG I just want to get away but it just wont happen now. There would be no way I could have a good time worrying about him not taking his antibiotics. I will be there in the morning for when the Doc comes in to find out what needs to be done..............I will be the one that has to do it.

I was really hoping I could get out of here Saturday evening after a family thing that got planned with out me planning it. Now I cant leave him, no telling what he would do next. Plus he is limited to what he can do with his index finger on his dominate hand. So he couldnt even open the waters to give all the birds water. I hate Drama.............but it loves to seek me out.

Marilyn, take that trip. Everyone needs to sometimes just take a break from daily grind. Money will be tight, but I am sure you have the wisdom to manage on a 'stringless' budget ;)

I just got through packing! Got to give my old dog a bath, cut up some chicken for the little one... call my overseas family to let them know I'll be in Texas.. and then head to bed..
