Dead mouse odor...help!

Wichita, KS(Zone 6a)

This really isn't pertaining to gardening but I'm hoping my gardening friends here will have an answer. A rather large mouse got up into an air vent in my Durango and died. We got it out tonight but I can still smell it. I tell ya, nothing has creeped me out this much in years! are there any odor fighting herbs that I could look for at a nursery that I can make a sachet out of until this fades?

Ok, as a 25 year mechanic I can help with this one easily. Follow directions exactly and your oder will be no more. First items you will need. A filter type paper mask, you can get at home depot pretty cheep. Second a large can of lysol and a bottle of febreeze any favorite scent will do. Ok start vehicle turn on ac in the recirculate mode, locate the return air ducts(usualy lower center of the hump in the center of the floor next to the fire wall). Put on filter mask and spray lysol at/into the return air ducts. Use entire can to get an even coating on the ducts behind the dash. This kills the bacteria and fungus that was growing on cacass. Next spray Febreeze liberally all over interior to include under seats and in storage areas. As the oder has permiated the interior. Allow the vehicle to run with ac in recirculate mode for about 30 to 45 minutes with all windows and doors closed this will allow the lysol and febreeze to get well circulated through out the passenger compartment. Turn off vehicle and put all windows down and open rear hatch(if equipped). A small fan at the back blowing on low speed toward the front will help dissapate the lysol smell. Apply febreeze one last time after dissapation of lysol. If smell presists then rodent made a nest and it will have to be located and removed from duct system.

thank you so much! we are getting ready to drive across 4 states for vacation and I didn't know what to do. You are a lifesaver and deserve a big smoochie! the little stinker (pun intended) was kind enough to leave his tail hanging out far enough that it could be extracted.
