I have a baby Russian Sage plant which has never really "taken off" and some of it's leaves are yellow. What could be the problem? It is planted in a sunny location. Could I have over watered it? I added a little blood meal but it did not help. It was planted late spring.

Can you post a picture? I wouldn't worry about it not taking off yet, it's a perennial so it will definitely take some time to get its roots established before it does a ton of growing. The yellow leaves could just be from transplant shock, but I would also check up on your watering. These plants don't need a lot of water so it's definitely possible to overwater it, but since it's newly planted it will need more water than it usually would so it's also possible that you're underwatering it. Before the next time you were planning to water, try sticking your finger down into the soil near the base of the plant and see how wet it feels--if it's really wet then you've been watering too much, but if it's totally bone dry then you need to be watering a little more often.
