I think I'm ok now.
Mini-Roundup in Calgary, 2009
oh good - you had me wondering for a moment ^_^
I'll be thinking of you all, having fun.
inanda
Thank you, Ginny ^_^
Ok all of you noted in the 1st post as coming - the Round Up is Next Saturday.
Boy how the time has flown!
Sorry I haven't been updating this however, as my DM has been here, I've been spending time with her. Whenever she's napping, she's in the den (where my 'puter is lol) and it's only when she's watching her "soaps" that I feel it's right to leave her to go on my 'puter ^_^
Anyhoooooooo - she's gone back home to Wpg tonight, so if there's any way I can assist, or if you have any questions, I will try to get back to you asap!!
Joanne says lawn chairs are not required. (edited the 1st post to take that request out, Joanne)
I'm really looking forward to this RU ^_^
~Susan~
I've sent Susan a D-Mail to forward as a Group Blast with directions to my house. The GPS & mapping programs will direct you thru a no-access bus gate, so please follow the directions that I have sent.
See you Saturday!! Weather should be nice.
Thanks,
Joanne
I hear the weather is supposed to be wonderful & DRY lol
Looking forward to seeing all the changes you've made to your yard, Joanne!
~Susan~
hmmmmm guess that puts "paid" to my bringing Datura lol
IF you're looking to find homes for them I may have a couple - a friend's of mine, and the church garden........ IF, that is....
I have some seed from the Hibiscus Amethyst you gave me.......
I have some Datura Inoxia (white) seeds and plants, too - if they're not taken at the RU, then I'll put them in my friend's garden. Mine aren't in bloom. They just came up of their own accord, in the garden, so they're apt to bloom later this season, or indoors.
If you are interested in what the garden looks like, here a link to some 10 year before and afters.

I have been away from DG for many weeks. Have a great round up! It turns out I have to play two weddings on Saturday afternoon. If it happens they are in the south I will pop in and say hi to everyone.
Theresa
Hope you can make it, Theresa!!
What time are we planning to eat? Turkey takes about 50 minutes to deep fry
I think about 12:30 should be good. It won't be the hottest part of the day, and everyone should have arrived with their food by then.
I have a lot of sturdy paper plates and napkins I'll bring, and some sturdy cups, and cutlery, too.
Oops I thought it was not until mid afternoon!
I'll try to get there by 1pm
yes, it's from Noon to 4, but I think if we are prepared to eat at 12:30, we should be good........
I think 12:30 is too early to plan to eat. We'll just be getting there for noon (and that's assuming everyone is there right at noon), and by the time everyone meets each other and we tour around Joanne's garden, more than a half an hour will easily pass. I'd suggest that we plan to eat starting between 1 and 1 pm...
Executive decision...We will eat around 2PM. That way if anyone is running late, they will not miss out on the hot turkey on a bun. Somebody is bringing buns, right?
I'm bringing fresh buns & butter.
LOL. I meant to type betweem 1 and 1:30pm. hee hee. 2 pm is great.
hee hee - that's why I agreed, with the old lady patiently waiting for her dinner @ the table lol
Sounds good to me!
I am bringing a corn salad.
And I think there is still some triple lemon zuchini bread in the freezer that need eating!
nummy!! I love lemon, and zuchini!
Okay---I need an address and directions and what should I bring?
Caroline

Loved that turkey Joanne - thank Harley for 'chefing' for us!
The company was nice too!

The Round-up at Joanne's was a great success. The garden is really something to see in August with everything in bloom. It was nice to put faces with names of DG forum contributors from the Alberta area. The deep-fried turkey was scrumptious---thanks to Joanne's husband who acted as the chef.
Looks like a fun gathering! I agree, lovely garden. I particularly like the window boxes! Very nice.
Lovely photo of happy smiling faces. No wonder; gorgeous garden, Joanne.
