Cucumber leaves with mildew/mold?

(Beth) L'ville, GA(Zone 7b)

Hi all--this is my first year planting cucumbers from seed. My plants are growing like crazy, but I noticed that the lower, larger leaves on one plant have a white mildew type substance on them. I'm sure it is something common but I am not sure what to do about it. I do have Daconil--can I spray this on? Or, does the growth really matter in the big scheme of things (i.e., will the cucumbers still be safe to eat?, etc.). Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Me too, only it's on my zucchini. Any words of wisdom?

Might be Powdery Mildew - this is very common where summers are hot and humid. My mind is drawing a blank as to what will keep it away. A Google search should bring you lots of answers.

You can sprinkle cornmeal on the ground under the leaves (horticultural cornmeal, not the regular stuff in your pantry) and you can also spray with a dilution of milk or hydrogen peroxide. I think that's right on the hydrogen peroxide. I sometimes cut off the affected leaves to allow more air circulation, too.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

Thank you, thank you! I'm sure it is powdery mildew and I think cutting the lower leaves will be just the right "medicine". Beth
