Wow , take pics Sherrie when they bloom!

Hi Candyce, yes im glad the S.Cherry bloomed and I love the flowers on it!

We crossposted on the Astilbe!! "Etna' is a red one too right? Fanal is also.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I planted a ton of sunflowers, too, Sherry!! What a co-inky-dink. I don't have anywhere near what you have, though, maybe 3 or 4 dozen. I planted Mammoth, so far, but also have some Van Gogh and another which I cannot recall at the moment.

Here is one of the cactus cuttings trays.

Yes Etna is the red one!

They are on the far left in this photo. The TINIEST ones. Wonder if they do not get as big as the others .....

From Left to right is Etna, Bridesmaid, America (one is in bloom there) and finally Amethyst

I also have some zukes (black beauty - back) and cukes (marketmore 76 - front) ready to go!

My summer savory seedlings are already flowering, too.

I thought my red ones didn't make it last year but this year they shot right up and are looking really good. Hope to see a bloom this season!

I have a new peach sunflower this year, Im curious to see if it's really peach.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

This one is still flowering! Only opens on the sunny days. This morning must be in between.

We have determined the best guess for this one is:

Gymnocalycium pflanzii v. albopulpa

I have seen those peachy ones. They are really nice! I bet Etna would look really nice next to peach sunflower!

Here are some seedlings which have been potted on and ready to go!

Aster alpinus, lower left ... Filipendula hexapetala, lower right .... Scabiosa caucasica Fama, middle right and the rest are Digitalis.

Edit: forgot: Mediterranean Oregano in the upper right corner, almost hidden under the Digitalis

My agave americana have really taken off this spring.

Here is a shot of the regular A. americana and of A. americana marginata, and just barely a branch of A. americana Medio Picta sticking in the picture on the right.

You can see 2 new babies on the marginata!!

The shady corner of the GH really has filled in. Not sure they will fit back in after being outside all summer .... what a horrible dilemma to have. ^_^

Close-up of the Mammoth Basil ready to get planted.

I planted one outside last week, to see if it would make it, so far it has made it well.

I don't think they mind a bit of nip, but we will see how well they fare as last night and tonight will dip into the upper 30's.. Saying 35ºF for a low tonight

The window orchids are still showing off. Though, I think the Epidendrum on the far left is about to call it quits for now.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

love it love it!!!... I got a leaf from Holly's swap yesterday... my first time rooting a rex... can't wait to see if it works out

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

I am trying to also root cutting from dissecting a begonia rex leaf into several cuttings!!

I am excited to see if it works!

If you don't have one already, you are welcome to one of the 'Fireworks'

Fellow DGer begoniacrazii reports:

Quoting:
A fantastic and popular rex cultorum hybrid from Mike Kartuz, of Vista, Ca -2000. 'Fireworks' is a cross between B. rex X B. cathayana.

Nice pics, everyone!

Willie, your amaryllis are looking great! All the seeds and cuttings and such you do are really keeping you busy, I'm sure.

Willie...... the only thing that comes to my mind is ... "WOW" Just, Wow!
If I had to take care of your greenhouse as well as a yard, I'd be so overwhelmed that I'd likely just keel over. However, It's all beautiful and you do a great job of it!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes - wow is right! Incredible, Will. Looks like my magic shoehorn, which I use outside, works just as well in GH's! Love that Gymno and the Fireworks Rex.

Nice shots, Shelly and Patti. Love that Rhody shot, Shelly, and your blue weed would be welcome here, Patti.

Beautiful pics, Celeste. Love that frizzy tulip and the color on that anemone.

Looks like that clem 'bud' I started the thread with is really the start of the seed head. I thought so when I snapped it, but since I had not seen any blooms, I thought it was just a weird one. Don't know how I missed it!

Here is that other funky one - finally opened. Don't have a positive ID on this one yet.

I can't keep up with you folks---Patti, I'd love the blue weed---my weeds are --weedy! Willie, great Rex---they really shine. Shelley---what's that green plant of yours? Interesting shot. And I'm sure your gardens aren't any messier than mine--I've done practically no weeding because of the rain. Victor, I love that bright pink clem---here's one of my alliums....

Everyone's pictures are wonderful as usual. : )

Victor your clematis in post #6561086 looks like Dr. Ruppel to me. I had plante done at my old place - I really liked it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hmm - I have no record of buying that one. Still possible, though, since my records are not always perfect. Thanks.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Victor, 'Patricia Ann Fretwell' is an early one.
Nelly Mosher?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Not Fretwell - I have that one and it's not ready yet. Also, it's a double.

No record of Nelly.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)
