Pixie62560, Nice run of shots. Tulips are really done up here in Vt, but I found a couple more hiding today while I was weeding. I haven't planted any tulips up here in quite a few years yet they keep blooming. Nice. Patti

Shot toward the barn with bleeding heart and a favorite blue weed. I had a lady bike by today and said it was her birthday tomorrow and that she really wanted this weed for her garden too. She bikes by all the time and knows it blooms around her birthday each year. I got out the trowel and dug her some big clumps and off she peddled with the blue flowers on the back. Too funny. Patti

I love how plants play with water! .... and sunshine, too!

At least your beggars are clever, Patti. Mine come over and say (in a heavy, WNY Polish Accent):

"You haff too many flowherss!! ..... wouldt dhose over dhere flowher in my yart??"

Then, I go grab my shovel ..... with a smile, of course!

Looking great over there, Celeste!! I like that Aster. I started some darker Aster alpinus Beauty Dark Blue from seed this winter. Can't wait to see the color of them. .... And that tulip! Very nice!

I was very cold out here, last night, too, Jo Ann. Brrrr.... Good thing I brought the seedlings back into the cold frame. Not sure they would have liked that. Frost warnings for tonight, too!! Yikes!!

My Picotee Amaryllis has sent up a second flower stem! The seed pods from the last flush of blooms are just about ready to harvest.

(P.s. Don't get too upset at me, I was born with that accent!!)

And the Amaryllis Philadelphia is just going strong! First time blooming in probably 10 years, and it's putting on quite the show!

This is the second stem of flowers in full bloom.

A shot a bit farther back.

I am surprised I have not had to support these beauties ...

Love those Amaryllis. very nice.

Thanks, Celeste! This has been a very good spring in the green house this year. Now, if only my Clivia Aztec Gold would flower! But, she's still a baby. I think, not even 5 years old.

I think today is the last day for the Amaryllis Benfica. I don't think I have ever had three of the Amaryllis bloom at the same time!

Here's a shot of the three together. At the top Benfica, in the middle Philadelphia and at the bottom, Picotee.

Panning more to the left, you can get a better view of one of the seedling metros.

This is round two. Most of what was started is already transplanted and in the cold frame.

My rex begonia cutting from last year, that has made it through its first winter under my care. Usually, if they make it past the first year, they will last in my GH.

Think you can fit ONE MORE plant in that GH? lol

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Don't show Allison that REX...she'll want one. lol

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

Oh, Celeste! There is PLENTY of room for more plants!!!! LOL That shot is only one side of the GH!

^_^

Here is a shot of baby rex's mama, you might recall, from last summer.

She will??!!?? I had better start her a cutting today, then!!!

Here is a shot of the other half of the GH. The other seedling metro, also on its second round of seedling trays. All the astilbe on the bottom row are itching to be planted.

If you have a GH - there is a will there is a way. Like me what do I do ? Sell some plants and now I have something like 200 sunflower seeds started. Holding head in hands slapping forehead.

Pixie!
I'm so happy your sand cherry is blooming now. I remember when we chatted about it last year. Doesn't it have the most dainty of blooms?

Everyone has so much color, and so many photos! This past week was more or less a clean up week for us. We did little planting, and what planting and pruning we did was invaded by scores of black flies. I have to avoid them because if I get bit too often I get sick.

It's raining this morning, but I hope to get outside this PM to get photos of our gardens. Stay tuned!

200 sunflowers, Sherrie? That's a field's worth! What a pretty sight that will be.

Buffalo, NY(Zone 6a)

So itchy that some are already blooming on me.

I bought 4 from Breck's: Etna, Bridesmaid, America and Amethyst.

This one is Amethyst Astilbe (Astilbe x arendsii)

Very nice!! What colors are the Asilbe's? I planted 'Fanal', 'Diamonds & Pearls', and 'Amethyst' last year.

Guessing - I threw them in a seed tray. I sure didnt count the seeds!
