I have planted a Dinnerplate Dahlia and some Harlequin flowers.....and something seems to be eating the baby leaves. What could it be and what do I do about it?
Bugs eating the baby leaves!
Here's an idea I have had very good luck with and it is 100% organic. 2 cloves of garlic peeled and cut in half, place in a spray bottle with approximately 1 quart of water, allow to sit 24 hrs. Mist plants in need of self defense lightly. If your spray bottle is smaller than 1 quart use only one clove of garlic. This will not only repel creepy crawlies but four legged furry variety munchers also. If you double the dose of garlic you won't be bothered by neighbors or census people either. For a less noxious fix Wal-mart and most other stores with a garden center carry neem oil in a spray mix. though neem will not work as well as garlic, in my opinion, it does ok. I've used the garlic water on several variety of tender new plants and it even kept tent caterpillars at bay!
Thank you so much for your remedy.....I will be sure to try it. I have a 4 legged NOSEY critter....and I don't nosey neighbors or census people.....LOL.
