I have started my first garden and it is going great. The problem I have is there are several large trees in my backyard that are shedding sticks and stuff into the garden everyday. I am having to remove the fence and clean up every couple of days. I was thinking about put this netting that protects plants from deer over the top to catch the tree dropping (for a better word). Any ideas if this will decrease sunlight. Right now I am on only getting about 5 1/2 hours of direct sunlight and I am afraid to cut that down with the netting.
messy garden
How about pruning the trees instead? Netting will reduce the sunlight; how much depends on the netting.
Depending on the size of the sticks and stuff, just leave them.
It is all small sticks and seasonal shedding of some type. I blieve these are oak trees. I will leave them.
they'll eventually compost into the soil...I always leave tree sheddings where they fall....doesn't hurt anything.
