I love this time of day for pics in that part of the garden.

azaleas are a bit faded... wish I had placed the left hellebore over to the left more.. I am afraid to move it (I put a container of coleus in the dead spot)... the monster bleeding heart is covering the other foam flower there on the right... not sure what the bulb is on the front right ... never saw it bloom (must be too shady)... should have bent back the daff foliage before taking the shot... oh well

all the purple CB are from Michele's garden

ge1836 it looks like you have alot established in that bed. onewish your foliage choices are to die for! Is spring your fav time for that bed? I will post pics when my garden wakes up more.

Thanks Dnut,The bed is 2 years old and just about full from nothing but 1 astilbe and a transplanted Dicentra.
I am so pleased with how it turned out.

Some of my shade beds seem to be taking forever to establish sigh. It's so nice when things fill in.

My shade plants are just getting going. Hostas mostly.

Ok when you take pics you sure see what work still needs to be done...so sad my gardens.

This is my misfit garden that will have wildflowers, phlox and any pink and purple.

Shade area...... major work in progress. Sill trying to find things that will grow here, dry shade.

That's like my 'plunk it in here for now' bed ^_^

Skinny garden on north side of the house, mostly shady then intense sun from 1-3.

Does the rose bloom in that 1-3 hour bed flower jen? I'm thinking of pushing the shade envelop with a few roses.

Here another work in progress.... blocks and old grill cover trying to smother grass and weeds, still spreading mulch...so much fun on a limited budget.
Hubby doesn't like the shape(too hard to mow around) so I get to make it BIGGER!

Victor,did you ask the edging question of my garden?
The edging in the JM pix is a bluestone sidewalk that runs from the driveway past the deck to the back yard,a different pic of same.
This was taken May3

The other picture has the original landscapers edging ,the black heavy stuff.
I found a neighbor kid who will dig an edge at the new east garden and clean up other garden areas where ths edging has let grass grow into the garden. I hate that.Former owners didnt do much to keep things as tidy as I like.

I cant manage it. Comes in a coil that wont straighten, I let my children do the edging.
The kid who is edging for me is just doing flat spade work.
