lady's mantle- what's wrong?

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7b)

I have a few lady's mantle plants that I just got- they are still in their nursery pots. When I went out today- all but one looked like this. We have had a lot of rain... it this some sickness from them being too wet? too much sun? Maybe something they came with and I should try to exchange them? the newer leaves seem the worst off. Thanks for any advice!

anyone? I don't want to lose them. I'm not sure if I should remove the affected leaves, or spray them with some neem or something. Is this something that will spread to the other plant, or other plants in the garden?

Sorry no one has answered this for you.

It's hard to tell from the photo what exactly is wrong with your plants. They could be too wet, but then again too much water would turn the foliage yellowish. Those dark spots MAY be some sort of a fungul disease.

Have you looked at the back of the foliage? There may be some sort of mold or fungus growing on the reverse of the leaves, or possibly some sort of insect pest.

I've only grown Lady's Mantle a few times and they didn't do well for mew...they always got mealybug really bad.

I used to have a whole row of them. They slowly dwindled to one or two plants. I think they do better in partial sun, or on the east side of the house.

my tomato plants didn't survive the rains either. I think I'm going to pull them up and start over once I can get to the beds without sinking to my knees in mud.

Thanks for the help. Sorry to hear that it sounds like they're a finicky plant. The back of the leaves looks ok, the dark parts are a bit crispier... maybe it is just a sunburn. i cut the affected leaves off of one, and neem-ed another. I'll see what happens. thanks!
