Garden Photos of '09.... #18
Very nice, dnut. I think Sam will be fine!
loved all the photos today
Very pretty violas Dahlia! Yes, Sam will be fine. Of course I love the pulmonaria.
Great shots, everyone!
Shelly, your dogwood flower shots are wonderful!
Grandpapa, I have a Cornus Kousa dogwood, though I don't know the name of it. It has white flowers and is just beautiful when in bloom. I get seedlings from it now and then. I have one that I think is it's offspring, and last year it bloomed for the first time. It was over 10 years old, not sure exactly how old it was.
I love your 'Jerry's Jubilee', Willie. What a luscious flower! When you mentioned epis, I thought you were talking about epimediums until I checked out the website. LOL! That 'Summer Fun' Kousa is outstanding! I want one! Oh, btw, I got the banner you made me today. I'm very impressed!!!!!!! I can't tell you how pleased I am. You did a fantastic job! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
How horrid about that chainsaw accident!!!! Another good reason to be doubly careful around when using or being around chainsaws. Can't be too careful around equipment like that.
Patti, I agree about using a photo program to post rather than posting one by one here. So much time involved. And this makes it easier to share with all my friends and family, as I can only email so many per message, it makes much better sense doing it this way.
Your dogs are very beautiful. what kind are they? Are they Australian Shepards? I had one once, and he was sure naughty. Very much the alpha male and didn't get along with most other dogs, but loved people. Very intelligent, in fact, too smart for his own good. My Patches is naughty, too, and not as intelligent as my Aussie was. She likes digging holes, too, especially at the base of my plants. The most recent one was right at the base of a mugo pine.
Jen, the photo you listed as spider wort is actually variegated Solomon's Seal. Just thought you might want to know!
Here's a picture of my Patches among my out-of-control tradescantia (Spider Wort). She was having fun searching for a baby bunny that kept eluding her.

I am really getting to know now how to utilize the manual setting on my camera so that I can get good exposures when I take the picture. It really cuts down on the time I have to spend editing them afterwards on the computer. The only thing I have to do with this last bunch that I took today is rotate the vertical shots.
Here is one of a Darwin Hybrid, which I'm pretty sure is called 'Appledorn'. It comes back reliably for me every year. I just love it.

Wow, those are some great pics everyone! I finally took a few....here is the new bed I started last year...finished filling it in with rocks and a stone wall my SO built and we put in a tumbled bluestone patio...very happy with the result!
