Black Eyed Seed Potatoes

Hi,

Its taken me a few weeks longer than expected to get my veg garden set up. I've had to set up a deer perimeter fence and what with the rain I've been having, my seed potatoes have been sat on my window sill for about a month now.

The first ones that came in the mail are now spongy, and the eyes have turned black. I'm wondering if its a good idea (or if I should) break off the black eyes. Will new, fresh ones grow in their place?
