i have a lovely dracaena that blew off my windowsill last weekend. i have the two slightly damaged tops in water and the body is still intact in its pot.
what will happen to the bottom/body of the plant?
will the tops root?
what can i do?

The bottom part should sprout new growth. You can also probably root the tops, but you might put them in potting mix rather than water, I'm not sure if they'll root in water or not.
I accidentally be-headed part of my bf's dracona last year,
he put the tops in soil and they just wilted (they'd been in a month or two) and no sign or root growth. So I suggested rooting in water and they thrived, however he was too lazy to pot them in soil so they just rotted, the roots got to about an inch and I said to repot them (he didn't).
As for the base of the plant, there were 4 arms, two I be-headed and 2 remain, the 2 beheaded stalks have had no growth on them (it's been around a year). However if there is no leaves on the top then the plant may force some out, his didn't "need" to grow leaves as it still had two branches there.
