Nothing brighter than an Oriole.....love when they come around.

What a variety of birds! I had the usual crowd this a.m. Did have a couple of male Indigo Buntings. I posted a pic on the Bunting thread.

Great pictures everyone. It's raining pretty hard here, so I can't get any good pictures, but I had a nice Chestnut Sided Warbler and a Blue Headed Vireo new to my yard today. I also had a great experience herding a mother Mallard and her NINE! baby ducklings across a local street. I have 3 kids, I couldn't imagine trying to keep up with 9.

I decided to share a picture I took last winter of a Saw Whet Owl that was wintering in a nearby cemetary. This was one of the cutest little things I've ever seen.

First time I see the White- crowned Sparrow this Spring. They use to be here at the same time, as the White-throated Sparrow, the other years..

The rain just let up here for a minute so I went out back to see if any migrants were passing through. This guy (Scarlet Tanager) was up in a tree. He was beautiful. It's amazing how much more vibrant his red is compared to a cardinal. Sorry for the crappy pic, the lighting was poor. New yard bird for me #84.

Nanny, I think your grosbeaks were at my house earlier this week. They only stayed the one day then they were off again. Same as last year. I'm just glad I got to see them during their journey.
