Are those Rufous hummers? OMG they are GORGEOUS!!!

I was excited Sunday to see an American Goldfinch still hanging around who had his breeding plumage. Seems like I never get to see them in full glory around here. They leave just when you guys in the more Northern states start posting pics of them "all dressed up." I was really enjoying seeing him like that and snapping some pics, when Mr. Lesser Goldfinch showed up to defend "his" feeder, and a small tussel ensued. I wish this pic were in sharper focus, but I like it anyway.

Here they were in further discussion.

Finally Mr. AGF conceded the point and retreated to a nearby tree.

I call this one "Flyby."

Wonderful addition everyone! Adel, love those hummers. PK wonderful shots of the goldfinches and your captions tickled to the back of my ears. lol.

Here is a parent Carolina wren made use of the bottle gourd. "Calling it home for now".

Very nice ones Peeper!! I love seeing both types of Goldfinch and that Wren looks happy with the gourd.

There are 3 Blatimore Orioles that ended up in this chase. You see the 2 obvious, but if you look there is a second male on the other side of the fence that joined in right after I took this shot!
