More burgundy and chartreuse.
Garden pics " I spied with my camera's eye....." #3
Great pictures.
Very nice color combinations. Neo, what are you going to replace the grass with? I am considering taking out my front lawn - it is very small and in my opinion useless. Are you going to use a ground cover?
Redchic, your maple shots are divine! I love the JM, especially this time of year when they are just leafing out! I was also duped by your Jack Frost until I enlarged it. I am another forget-me-not weeder...but they are so colorful this time of year when so little else is blooming that it is really hard! I am still not rutheless enough with them...they get moved to the woods rather than the compost pile!
Bea, Your Jack Frost is much farther along than mine...my leaves are still tiny little nothings. Looks like the plant will have at least doubled in size this year though, so I am excited to see it in a month. That was a garden "must have" that I did without for a couple of years because of price, but I would definitely not give it up now!
Neofarmer, Love your color combinations...especially the last one. I recognize the euphorbia, but what is the lovely red veined leaf?
The day has been so down right awful and I have to be out in it on a regular basis without the bennefit of being able to really dress for it, so I only have one pic to add tonight, and that is because I could take it under the cover of Mom's porch. We took a quick trip to Watson's yesterday for petunias, but I just couldn't resist this cutie.
rc...that wisteria is so delicate looking, really like the second pic.
Julie...never saw a hydrangea like that, I like the combo too!!
Looks like Spring has arrived in your garden Willow. It's coming along nicely.
Thanks Sally
Willow.. Your garden is beautiful and full of such a wonderful selections of plants, shrubs & trees.
I love your little pond and gold fish. Are your pink tulip the impression tulips? They look so tall.
Stunning!
How lovely! Thank you for the tour, you have so many rhodies! I love the one that is a yellow/peach combo, and the pond is delightful!
Willow, And I though your yard was stunning when things weren't really starting. Awesome!! Thanks for the ID on Neo's pic...that is a wonderfully colored leaf. I would really love to see a close up of your Mindy's Love. In the picture it looks like the blossoms are more elongated that a lot of rhodies. Either way, it's beautiful, as are your others as well as your maples! Very Very nice!
Thanks all.
Bea.... Your jack frost is beautiful. And way ahead of mine too!!
RJ.... That's a nice specimen of 'Miranda'
Willow... Your garden is absolutely beautiful and definitely so inspiring. I'm very jealous! :-p I love "the big white one" You've Pruned it into a great shape over the years.
Julie - are you familiar with the series Firefly? I was shopping with Sheri (outtamygourd) last year and she bought H. Firefly. We're both fans of the show.
Patricia, why can't I get Camassia started in my yard? I have one that just didn't come up this year and two that I bought this spring that are just languishing in their pots . . .
Thanks for the ID on the epimedium. I would have never remembered it!
Wanna see what I do when I am not getting dirt under my fingernails?

Portland.... i just now caught something that you said up above. You Do NOT stink at photography!! I didn't take the time to learn anything. I just said to myself. 'Darn it, i'm going to figure out what all of these things mean.' and headed out to practice. About 6 months later I finally started looking up a few of the technical thing and am still doing that. I figure that I toss at least 90% of all the pictures that I take.
Katie59, Was not familiar with the Firefly show, but sounds like I would have enjoyed it. DH rules the tv in our house, so if I want anything other than cars and cops, I have to read it!
Neo, is that your work? WOW...incredible!!!! I am an art addict (especially fantasy art) as well as a garden addict, so very much enjoyed your page! Ahh to have such talent.
Irwells, Thanks again for sharing with us the glory of a summer garden! You did a good job with Hot Cocoa's color...better than I have gotten of mine so far. Something about that burnt orange just doesn't come through well. I have a daylily that I have the same problem with...it is so vivid in person, but just can't get the darn pics to show it at all! It's too bad about the thunderstorm, but at least the potpouri is pretty as well!
Irwells, what lovely gardens you have. So nicely manicured! My grass grows a foot a day because of the rain, so I'd have to mow before I could photograph! ;)
Rarejem, thank you! Yes, those are some of the digital paintings I have done the last couple of years. I was teaching in the Game Art and Design program, so most of my class painting demos were geared towards video games, thus the fantasy look.
It is just a place holder until I get the real site up, so it has a lot of work to do still. I designed a good site but it is a bit complicated for me to script myself so will have to beg my son to do the coding. Now I will wait until the bots find the meta tags and maybe I'll get some freelance work! Need money to buy flowers. ;)
Neo - your web site is amazing. Such beautiful work. I like 'Forward Base Camp of a Winter Campaign' - such imagination!
Thanks Judi! That piece was done for the Environment Of the Week challenge that I participate in from time to time. The title is what they gave us, then we are supposed to paint the concept. I won that week which was terribly exciting! It wasn't as well painted as some of the others, but they voted for mine because it captured the concept the best. The site is conceptart.org and the EOW winner's circle is here:

I would rather paint flowers and happy gardens all day long, but I have needed to gear my work towards the video game industry for class demos. Otherwise my portfolio would look very different! I am starting a blog on my website that will be where I put the photographs of gardens and animals.
