I thought I would start May off with a pic from the show in San Antonio this morning. I took this picture this morning before the judging started. It has made it to the top of my "most wanted" list!
Rob's Outer Orbit
May Flowers
That's a beauty Nichole! Did you find any goodies to buy? Lynn
Can't wait to hear all about the show!
I was very good. I bought only 2 plants - Shirl's Grape Lollipop and Rob's Outer Orbit. I almost didn't get one, but Danny found some in his leaf starting tray, and got me a baby or two . . . here is a pick of the one he had entered in the show . . . This one made my Want list before the judging even started yesterday . . .
Woooooooo-Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am thrilled for you! Wasn't Tiny Wood Trail the on that you couldn't get to bloom? It sure looks great now!
Wow, Syrumani/Nichole! Now I really wish I were there! Congratulations on your prize plants! Maybe you should start a tutorial on how-to for the rest of us!
Wondeful, wonderful, wonderful!
Thank you! I don't know about a tutorial . . . I gather bits and pieces from here and there . . . ^_^
Congratulations, Nichole! Wow! I had no idea you were a novice gessie grower! Your plants are always so gorgeous and your show plants are great! Outstanding job ... now, I'm heading back up the thread to look at the rest of the pictures!

Congratulations syrumani! I hope this your first show was everything you were hoping for and more.
Thank you, everyone! It was fun! I am already looking forward to the state show in November! I do hope that alot of you in the area will be able to make it to Kerrville. I'm planning on being there for the whole process (depending on hotel prices!).
(THAT will cost a few $$$, so will start listing things soon.)
Syru,
I am so thrilled for you!! I know you were getting your plants ready for the show when disaster struck! It is so wonderful that you won awards and what great pictures ^_^. I sure wish they would have a show around here with some starter plants to buy.Looking at those tables I would have snatched up more than I could afford LOL.
Lynn
It was SO much fun, I can't even begin to describe it! Even though I need to start over with ALL my standards, I think it will be so worth it! (this is in retrospect, now) I have babies coming up from the ashes! Now to hit the books and figure out what the best will be for my plants this summer!

I know you can do it and the next show will be even better for you!!
I just heard about floods and storms in much of the South,Texas,Arkansas and Oklahoma. Is everybody okay? I haven't seen Tommie post for a few days and I know many of you live in these areas.Dave Harris said the rain is not stopping where he is.
Just checkin' up on everybody ^_^.

Last I heard, Gran had a DG RU this weekend--hope it wasn't ruined by the weather. When I saw the weather reports on tv--I thought the same thing as you Lynn...
Lynn, I think it would be great if you could make a trip down to Texas in November!
As for buying every plant, I didn't need to! (I spent more $$ at the Bead Sale in the next room!) Toward the end, people in the club were wanting to unload as many plants as they could, so they wouldn't have to take them home. I was carrying a tray of plants out my last trip to the car, and one lady said "here, take these". I asked her what they were, and she said "I don't know, but take them anyway!". Turns out, one baggie were for leaves of the beautiful Winter Ice!!
sounds like you made a haul, good job
JIM
Dimmer, that was the best Kentucky Derby I have seen since I saw the movie, "Biscuit"...........I cannot believe you bet on a 50 to1 horse.........That is waaaay too exciting!
Wow,Kim! Good for you.I can't believe something like 23 people picked that Super Trifecta thing. How did you pick that horse?
Lynn
Syru,
I sure wish I could come down there in November!! My son built a house there 5 years ago.My sister,my neice and her 3 children moved there 4 years ago.Due to things like surgeries, etc.,we haven't made it down there yet!! We even had airline tickets at one point. They are all in San Antonio....sigh.
