Hip whoray its May

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I posted this on another forum and thought it would do well here.
Anyone have early spring pictures of their gardens?
I love the emerging plants with Buzz-cut looks.

Hey there in NY
No ability to post pictures, but I agree WaaHooooooo Spring has sprung all over my beds. My Bleeding heart is sooo beautiful. I'm in Berkeley Springs WV where we just had a week of 90 degree weather. Scary stuff for my HOt flash prone bones, but the plants were smiling. Back to rainy 50's now, thank you.
I'm new to posting so I guess I'm just reaching out.
A few of my plant's are having issues so I'm looking for a place to get info.
I have som of the great Alliums with the large purple globes on top. I love them but one of them has died and now a second's leaves are starting to yellow. I dug out the one that was very ill looking, and the bulb seems to have rotted. Maybe the soil is too wet. I hope it's not some fungus. It looks like rain for the next week too. What a shame they have their bloom stalks already and are ready to burst open. I'm sure if I try to move them now they will not do well, but I suppose it;s my only choice. Any ideas??
Your picture is nice thanks for sharing

welcome ayla I'm not the oldest DG member just 1 year. Its been a great time. You'll love it here.
We all have different degrees of gardening proficiency and everyone is very helpfull.

Ayla - I'm not sure what the problem with the Alliums is but the leaves look terrible just at the time they bloom. I cut them back every year so I can get decent photos of them without the horrible looking leaves.

Having grown onions before I do know rain can rot them and since they're the same family as Alliums the moist soil may be your problem.

I wouldn't dig in the area again. Just wait and see how the blooms are this year. Good luck.

And doesn't that gazing globe just go perfect with those alliums?

I believe in all possible uses of Color Echoes! That's precisely why they're planted there, as you might have guessed.

Thanks, Jo Ann. I need to do a lot of weeding, but it's coming.

Yes, it is May, but doesn't really feel like it here, except for the fact the weeds are really growing, and I am getting further behind in getting rid of them!!!!

Here is a shot of an area in my little woodland garden area. There is a mound of golden Veronica, a clump of small flowered allium and three lilies. and weeds and other garden plants.

I do try to keep a mulch, but my large flock of banties ( 1 old hen, 2 -2year old pullets, and 2 -2yr. roos ( I don't need 2 roos, but they are pretty, and I don't need the old hen, 8 years, but I have had her all that time, so she is a pet) keep scratching the mulch all around looking for bugs. I only let them out late afternoons. So here is another pcture showing my purple gazing globe, but I don't have any pretty alliums in bloom near it like Pirl.
