Bummer, bummer, bummer :( My small supplier lost her 'Dancing in the Rain' Hosta supply this wicked winter :( O well I ordered a 'Little Sunspot' mini instead cuz I need little ones to go in my new steppy stones so all's well that ends well (although I still need 'Dancing in the Rain').

nice site for our forum!
onewish1, ZuZu posted it in the rose forum. She is the queen of good rose advice and sources for rose dabblers like me. Patti
Did you notice they are closing their retail business?
Edited to say....Duh, of course you did I didn't notice that you already said that.

patti i think you also have some hosta's to add?
Wha, Yes lots of hosta thanks to your help at Mason's Hollow, and as you know, also a truck load of other stuff that I have been busy planting. I have only a couple left to plant in the morning.
I would have finished today, but the veggie bed needed major work, so that took most of the afternoon. Don't ever plant a veggie bed on sloping ground. What a pain! We will finish putting up the trellis and actually plant it tomorrow. Then I have some lily bulbs to get planted before I can start doing the containers. I hope to be caught up by Thurs.
I am driving down to NYC on Thurs. to pick up a big strapping friend who is dying to get out of the city for a week and come help move all the plants out of the greenhouse and do some brush cutting and play with our chain saws! He comes a couple times a year for physical therapy. I find lots of heavy work for him to do as Apt living in Brooklyn doesn't give him the outside work he craves. I am so lucky to have such a friend. I have to watch him like a hawk as he sometimes gets grand ideas about us planting a vineyard or making a giant pond with koi.
Anyway here is the list of most of the things that fell out of my truck when I got back from the mainland. Not listed are the veggies and some annuals. Patti

And I planted 2 really nice Kerria japonica 'Pleniflora' tjhat were a gift from Wha which I am very happy to have. Thanks, Wha.
By the way Wha's garden is stunning. More rock walls than I had thought that are done with such care and expertise. He even has a large natural pond that he hasn't incorporated in to the grand scheme. Not sure why he hasn't gotten to that yet. Must be a slacker.... NOT and NO Weeds anywhere. Believe me, I looked. Lovely. Patti
again thx patti - how come you did not mention the endless stream that you were chanting as we walked back to the pond?:) there will come a time - maybe
slacker?? - all the beds are weeded and mulched and you know how much crawling around it did for that to happen - AND i switched the little blue spruce with the golden shadow DW - and brought the red baron into protective custody and moved the bloodgood in for temp. replacement. not to mention..............
you are welcome anytime!! in fact i'm looking for those pots in my driveway you mentioned:)
Holey Moley that is some list, Patti.
flowerjen, Just trying to keep up with Wha and the rest of you people.
Wha, Funny you should mention those promised pots as I was taking mental notes yesterday as to the best way to transport them to your house, as I will be flying off island, then driving up to Vt via your house. But I think I will do what Mason's Hollow did with my fern order which ironically arrived on Thurs, which was to clear tap the tops of the pots shut, so no dirt fell out. That way I can pack your plants up in a suitcase for the short fight. First class of course. Actually it is a no class on 10 seater puddle jumper. I think an Endless steam is a must for your yard. Perfect slope down to that wonderful natural pond. Mine is only about 40 feet long, yours could be a mighty river, bigger than the Nashua with a falls rivaling Niagara! Patti
Amazing yard Wha - you and Patti should charge admission and have garden walks!
Victor, I could just have people pull weeds in lieu of admission , Wha doesn't grow those, but I sure do. You could do the same, but you keep saying there is no more room for anything in your garden.
Everyone should try to get to Boojum's open garden party as she has an amazing garden and property.

I am going to try and stop at Nutsfordaylily some time too. Ge1836 is near one of my yearly drives up to Canada, but I doubt I will ever get to see dahlianut in Calgary. I still have a nice Jade for Victor which I may just have to drop off in person to get a Free tour of his garden. I won't eat that week so I will fit. Patti
I f you come this way you are most welcome. Take the bridge at Lewiston to Canada, have your passports ready. Its the only way to get in.
I'm serious about a visit.I better not find out you passed a half hour from me and didnt stop, I ' ll do something drastic.
Me too Patti, I'm close to JoAnn
I have taken that bridge many times. I will let you know when we are heading your way! It would be fun to twirl about in your new kitchen and stroll though all your new work in the garden and see some of your art work.
debilu, how close? Patti
Nice, Bill. That is why many prefer Autumn Moon over Full Moon - more hardy.
i realise that - both are nice and storing it is not a big deal.
pattie no endless stream here - if and when i start it will be a small stream and pond - small stream would be at least 40 ft long. then who knows i could always extend it - of course i need a job to pay for it:)
I agree. Would like to get it one day. Love the light green color.
Amazing photos of amazing gardens---mine look more like I'm growing weeds instead of flowers. Patti, I have leptodermis oblonga---just put it in this year, & it's small---came home from NH with 3 plants---fuchsia 'Pink Marshmallow', peony 'Crinkled White', & geranium 'Orkney Cherry'. Have to plant those with a Snowpeak order that came in, and some beautiful DLs from Pixie.
Patti, I'm about 4-5 miles from JoAnn.
Sooner Farm has a 7-8 ft Shirazz Jm for $149. Problem? Shipping for me is $139! Hee hee.
Patti
Debilu IS only a minute away.
Please come!
the shipping from sooner is ridiculous - although they do not bare root or semi bare root - it is all the weight.
with a little searching you can find it local - start with the nursery that grows it and then look at the list of garden centers they service
Victor, I have seen it at several nurseries. One being on Nantucket, but very pricey as I recall, but I will check this week if I get out there to see the size and damage. I saw them at a nursery near Springfield, but don't remember which one...Maybe Sixteen Acres (413) 783-5883. I may get down there this week on my way to nyc, if I go to Vt first. But I think it was more like 5 feet, but full.
I will try to figure out my Canada trip soon and let you both know if I can swing by for a quick visit. A twofer, that would be fun. Patti
Crossing fingers it works Patti
Just saw Ben Champeau(sp) Landscaper from Nantucket.
He is married to GF daughter and has twin sisters one helps in the business,She is the perennial person.
That's INSANE for a shipping charge!
Just found a B&D LILIES closeout sale on Daylilies
I ordered a bunch
There's a raffle at my DH's reunion every year---in the past I've won a flowering crab, blueberry bushes, & a lilac---this year I again won a flowering crab---problem---8-10ft tall---could not get it into Tahoe---gave it away to folks coming out the door behind us.
Dahlia or zinnia? Pretty. Patti
looks like a RED flower
