Night blooming jasmine

Valley Village, CA

I planted a night blooming jasmine in a pot about a month ago (it came in a 5gallon pot). It dropped a lot of leaves, and now seems to be growing, but does not have a single bloom. I have it in pretty much full sun, and water it almost every day. I live in Southern California.
When is it supposed to bloom? what may i be doing wrong?
thank you!

Mine usually blooms later in the year--don't remember exactly when but definitely later in the summer so I wouldn't worry at all that it's not blooming now. I would doublecheck the watering--I don't know how warm your temperatures have been but watering almost every day may be a bit too much. I'd try the finger test--next time you're about to water, stick your finger down a few inches into the pot and see how wet the soil feels. If it's still really wet, then you need to back off on your watering.

Is the nbj happiest in full sun? I just got one and I thought it said to give it partial shade. I haven't planted it yet so I guess I should wait until I know for sure.

they bloom in the evening usually, or in the early part of the day, too much watering wont let it root, n the blooms will probably begin after the plant has adjusted to the new pot. Dont know how far north u r Ca. as u dont have a zone set, n they like humidity, root drainage, cool nights.

ooops, too fast on the wrong keys. Southern Ca, I expect the ones here to bloom by May, or the end of May

guamsorbit--I think you can put them in full sun or part shade. I've grown them in full sun and they've been fine, but I think they'd be fine with some afternoon shade too.

Thanks Liz, you are on top of things as always!
