Garden Photos of '09.... #16

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Robin, on the last thread you posted a picture of a lovely tulip, I believe it was the only one left of 5. Wanted to tell you I thought it was beautiful and it's a shame you only had one left. Maybe you'll be lucky and it will have little bulblets!! ^_^

I have lots of Daffs in bloom!! I don't know any of the names, well maybe one.

Nice plants pixi.
How do you get Amarillis to bloom this late
When do you pot them?
Can bulbs bought in the fall over winter that many weeks?

Love that last one too, Shelly.

Jo Ann, I put this one is the basement around l mid Jan. after it was done blooming and the foliage had turned yellow. I stop watering it and pulled it from the dirt. I then stuck it in a dark cool place for 12 weeks. I happened to be in the basement checking on some other bulbs and noticed it . I left it in the cellar(basememnt) for another 3 weeks but where it could get some light. It sprouted a few green shoots so I planted it. I now have this one very tall stalk and one shorter stalk growing. The tall one opened the day before yesterday and revealed 4 blooms, which 2 of the flowers has now opened. The smaller one has a nice big bud on it too! I have another one that was in a zip-lock baggie(with air holes in it) sitting in front of the window. It too has a bud on it so I brought it up this week. I should have 'Charisma' blooming in a few weeks too. ^_^

DyanesGarden. I agree with Ge1836 . That Standard Dwarf Bearded Iris 'Eye of Newt' is a must have for me too.

I have put my spring blooms on a site to view. Too many to post here! I have tried to label most of them. Pixie, needless to say I love the daffies too. Enjoy. Patti

I couldnt find it but googled the image.
I needed to see what pink the plant was.
Going to put some dwarf iris in there.
Snowypeak Iris has some awsome plants. I think I'm in the wrong zone though.
