One of my fav shrubby things. Plum all winter but now turning its summer green. Spreading Burning Bush Euonymus 'Turkestanica'

Of course the chives don't care how much snowfullness there is.

Now we move into the greenhouse. Luvly white viola which I hope will self seed here but doubtful if it blooms this soon :(

Callas are shouting up. White with speckly leaves. My fav of my callas.

Of course there are plentiful dahlias happening.

Meanwhile as I was focusing on the 'big guns' the luvly truly minature Suitzu Julie is making flower buds. This resulted in a dance of joy.

New perrienial babies and bare root starts joined in the dance of joy. Note: pink flower is annual stock that a friend gave me.

Red runner beans after 4 days. EEK! I'm researching the beanstalk story!

We move back outside to the snowfullness. These have patiently held up through snowfullness. I hope they don't quit before they open.

I leave you with these smart guys. These croci migrated to be protected from snowfullness by the stack stone of the herb bed. Smart, smart croci. My favs today.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! We now return to the fleurdyness of the NE gardens ^_^

Hope the rabbits don't get your crocus, Cousin Nut! They've eaten many a crocus here. Rabbit stew is sounding more and more appealing! Looks like your beans are off and running!!!!!

Cousin Nut Boris and Natasha (jackrabbits that hang under my mugo pine) are very polite about nibbling. Victor I'm really stretchhhhing for pics. Thanks for the encouragement.

Wish my buns would be more polite! If they would only stick to nibbling the grass we would get along fine. There is plenty of grass to go around, and I'm happy to share it!

Pretty picture Dyane!! I really love the colors in the first iris. It fits the color scheme of one of the beds in the back yard perfectly!

Dahlianut..... I'm sooooo happy to see that spring has finally sprung for you!!! I'd be absolutely extatic by now if had to wait that long for color again. You're very patient!

thank god it's Friday... the dog woke me up 20 mins early... she had to go out... I am whiny .. it's been a long week

I thought of you today when i was weeding in my monarda patch and the hummers were flying by me all the time. Just thinking to myself... I wish one of these tweeties would land close enough to me so that I could maybe get a shot as good as Allisons! However, they would have to be really close and sit really still, and then I'd still have to have a lot of luck on my side. But they never did decide to land, just to do "fly by's" by me!

I didn't get any pictures of the hummers though. They didn't sit down close enough for me to get a good picture. It always takes them a little while to get used to me being out there while they are. then I might stand a chance!!

yes they usually are a bit skittish early on.... just have to get a bigger zoom lens like I did

I didnt wake up in time to be the first of the first of May posters.
Dyane! I have Chinatown, planted them last fall with Anemone blanda alba not in bloom yet. Yours are great.

D-nut, congrats on spring blooms!! I know how you feel waiting and waiting, only you have to wait longer than the rest of us. I'm so happy you have blooms inside the g.house and out!!! ^_^

RC I love that blue color on those anemone, I may have to try growing them again. I've tried 2X and had maybe 2 bloom out of 25! I have no idea what im doing wrong. Of course that was before I came to DG...maybe I can grow them now? lol
